Look, I think that Rove and Perrino are just saying that going too far right is dangerous in certain states because you might lose centrists and independents.
But suppose that Tea Party candidates are so far right that Dems actually retain or gain in the midterms?

Rove is something like a genius in the political arts.I never thought that. Ever. I always argued against that "genius" label whenever it was thrown at him. Always.
I was never a big fan of his. Sometimes he was great, but sometimes he was awful, and we’re paying for Bush to this day.
Apologies are being offered to all bastards who have been unfairly categorized and grouped in with that obnoxious turd.
I’ve been wondering that same thing since last night.
It’s apparent from last nights, and this morning’s rant that Mr. Rove is, and has been a stealth Leftist RINO.
Perhaps Mr. Rove got too much credit for much of the positive things that happened during the Bush years, and not enough for the bad things.
There has to be more to this story. Rove has supported Tea Party candidates in the past, and has even (I think)endorsed some against other GOP rivals. Didn’t he support Angle? There is a reason that Rove is out to get O’Donnell specifically. It may be that he has close friends on the Castle campaign. I’m not sure.
But, when even Mitt Romney and the NSRC has changed their tune ... this just doesn’t add up.
