What happened to Glenn Beck??(VANITY)

Posted on 09/15/2010 7:21:21 AM PDT by NCBraveheart

It has taken me a while for me to finally notice this. Approximately 2 years ago Beck was on the radio talking pitchforks and torches. About fighting back against the liberal-progressive tide. Now he is talking about what seems to be a national Kum-Byah-Ya and group hug? It seems he has become more interested in shilling for Beck Inc. rather than raising a call to action. I may be viewing it wrong but that is just how I see it.

He is a businessman...period. He may be doing Patriotic things but at the end of the day it is about wealth accumulation for him...just like O’Reilly, Hannity, etc...

He’s just getting a bigger group together because we need more pitchforks in November.

You’re not the only one wondering the same thing.

His transformation was very sudden and almost overnight. It is my belief the Chicago Mafia paid him a visit and “explained things” to him. He has had death threats and wears a bullet proof vest in public......red

He’s playing rodeo clown to our political bull ride. That’s a good thing because the democrats are so distracted with him that they can’t gore us.

Because the pitchfork-thing worked out so well for Patrick J. Buchanan.

I don’t think it’s that. I think he read Gandhi and King and thinks this can be a non-violent revolution. I hope he’s right. The crowd he drew in Washington would seem to be an indication.

No offense, just my humble opinion, I just can’t even watch Fox anymore. Beck or Oreaaly, I share all the conservative values but watching them just does nothing but make me want to change the channel....and not to any “news” stations.

Good one.

I got bored with him several months ago, but still like what he’s doing. It does make sense to transition from pitchforks to reconciliation. I mean if we end up getting power we can’t have the other 1/2 the nation wanting to get revenge. If we start reconcilliation BEFORE we win it helps set up a more sincer request to put the bickering aside.

My guess is that he worked and worked, climbing and climbing until he could peer over, and he saw the mess that’s in store for us. Now he’s convinced that America is not prepared for the battle. And, as someone once said, “To send untrained men into battle is to throw them away.”

He must be trying to prepare us either to fight or to endure the unavoidable.

JMHO

I share your pain.....it’s getting old to watch Fox..

I’d add Hannity to that, too.

Every show starts with Karl Rove and Sarah Palin and talking about Obama’s falling poll numbers....

Where’s the persuasion....?

It’s all just partisan politics....and the policies get worse and worse.....

Heck, I don't know... I never listen to him...
But we are living in crazy times when nothing makes sense anymore,
So maybe Glenn had an epiphany and discovered that he was gay.

Just a theory, but nothing either more or less plausible than any other speculative nonsense that dominates American politics in this day and age.

With all due respect, I think that is nonsense. I think that he has simply realized something that I have been saying for a long time: Politics will at best produce only temporary gains unless we strive to be the type of people that this Republic was designed for.

The Founders commented on the fact that giving people unprecedented freedom would lead to catastrophe unless the people exercised self-control and harbored allegiance to a moral code that came from beyond themselves (from God). That is what Glenn is getting at and he is 100% on target. Bring enough of the people back to our founding principles and we will finally see real and LASTING change for the better.

IMHO, Beck had an epiphany. Calling for torches and pitchforks to rally the troops was fine, but to take a page from the playbook of the left,(which worked, BTW) he has taken the Ghandi/MLK approach of total non-violent resistance. It is much more difficult to demonize people united in peaceful resistance than an ‘angry mob”.
