This is the DTV Shredder, a militarized skateboard with two caterpillar tracks. It can travel at over 30mph, go up 40-degree slopes, turn around in four feet, and be remotely operated. It's also quite spectacular in action:
Created by Ben Gulakthe guy who made the beautiful-but-kind-of-ridiculous Uno bikethe DTV Shredder was presented as a "first response modular platform for soldiers" at last August's Military Vehicles conference in Detroit.

Cool, but seems odd the soldier appears to have a beard. ;0)

What a useless POS, IMHO.

This is what Segways wish they were.
To: DadOfFive
Only cool if it had a Dillion Aero minigun mounted on the front.

A military Segway. How unique.
Can the rider draw his weapon while riding? If you can’t do a drive-by with it, is it really very useful?

I don’t care who you are, that there is funny. Wrong, but funny.

I don’t know what those tiny guns are that they’re shooting, but they look funny.
Personally, I’d prefer that the military be given nice fast Honda on/off road bikes. They’ll go a lot faster than 30, and can handle a lot of nasty terrain. Plus, they’ll carry enough fuel to cover a respectable distance.

What they’re doing I can’t imagine it would ever work.

The officer closest to the camera looks like he has a spare wheel squeezed between his cheeks.

They should have a seat as well so you can shoot more quickly when you let go of the handlebars. IOW, an ATV with tracks, that could possibly seat two, maybe with one man able to stand up on the back.

That's a safety wheel in case he falls over backwards.
