This is a heads up regarding Progressive Auto Insurance. You know who they are. Theyre the ones with the clever television ads featuring the perky brunette actress all dressed in white. What you might not know is that the chairman of Progressive is Peter Lewis, one of the largest funders of the left in America . Hes your typical rich spoiled kid who took over the company from his father and apparently feels guilty for his success and now dedicates himself to making it impossible for anyone else to become wealthy. Between 2001 and 2003, Lewis funneled $15 million to the ACLU, the group most responsible for destroying whats left of Americas Judeo-Christian heritage. Indeed, Lewis is himself an ACLU member. One of the ACLU projects he earmarked his funds for was an effort to sue school districts who have drug testing policies. In other words, this idiot wants teachers to be able to use drugs without fear of exposure. I wonder what he would think if all his own employees came to work drugged out every day. Lewis also gave $12.5 million to MoveOn.org and American Coming Together, two key components of the socialist left. The former group is perhaps the main group used by the Obama forces to organize their activists; the latter group is a 527 political action group that essentially served as a front for the SEIU union thugs who ran ACORN. His funding for these groups was conditional on matching contributions from George Soros, the international socialist who finances much of the Obama political network. Its disturbing that Lewis made a fortune as a result of capitalism but now finances a progressive movement that threatens to destroy the free enterprise system. He reminds me somewhat of Armand Hammer, the former head of Occidental Petroleum who did business with Joseph Stalin and became his good friend, around the same time Stalin was executing businessmen all over the USSR . What angers me further is the way this company is targeting television shows watched by conservatives such as Fox News. Peter Lewis is making a fortune off of conservative Americans so that he can destroy our country. Hes banking on no one finding out who he is. I think its time we expose this clown. Boycott Progressive Insurance
Snopes goes on to assert that the email is telling the truth. That didnt surprise me. Peter Lewiss socialist leanings have been well documented for a long time. What did surprise me, actually disappoint is a better word, is snopes went on to point out:
Peter Lewis has donated a good deal a money to various philanthropic efforts, including hundreds of millions of dollars to Princeton and Case Western Reserve universities, and another $50 million to the Guggenheim Museum.
Who cares? What does that have to do with whether or not Lewis contributed to the organizations the email said he did? The day before Snopes went to great lengths to point out Michelle Obamas butt wasnt in a picture that was attributed to her. It was her butt, it was the actual butts of the other women, but the picture itself wasnt accurate.
Bottom line is Snopes has gone out of its way to become political. Peter Lewis did what the email said. The conclusion they come to is irrelevant. Its an opinion. Thats not normally a concern of Snopes. For some reason of late, they have been on the defense for Obama and anything that criticizes the guy. Thats a shame. If I cant trust them to be totally neutral on all issues, I just cant trust them. And, thats the only thing Snopes actually sells. Theyre on thin ice right now as far as Im concerned.
GMTA! (See Post #17)
The name is no accident. Go here for more about Lewis. Peter Lewis
Snopes on thin ice? Jeez, I flushed those trailer park liberal loons a long time go. I can do my own research.
In a nut shell, insurance companies are in business to collect your money and avoid settling legitimate claims at all costs...
Has anyone else noticed that Progressive advertises more then anyone else? You literally can’t escape watching Flo pop up on the screen for more then 1/2 hour, no matter how much you change the channel.
That being said: suppose Lewis had a “gentleman’s
agreement” that he’d continue to pay megabucks in advertising as long the media continues to slant their stories leftward. Anybody being contrary might wind up losing massive amounts of advertising revenue.
Lewis is a guilty liberal. Money means nothing to him,
ideology is everything. I think he advertises so heavily to
blackmail the media into covering things in alignment with his worldview.
Progressive and Ben&Jerry’s have been on my “no-buy” list for nigh two decades.
We did a price comparison and found that Erie was much more reasonable than Geico when it came to *good* levels of coverage, which is a must in the Philly area with all the uninsured and under-insured drivers.
When you tie all of your insurance (home, auto, etc..) into a reputable company like State Farm (which is what I have) you end up getting your auto insurance as cheap as these places like Progressive and Geico.
That said, I like Flo but hate the gecco. I was stationed in Hawaii for a while. Had my fill of gecco’s there....
Yes. There are dozens of insurance companies out there. No reason to give business to people who support an islamist who is destroying your country.
Anyone know the politics of Nationwide? They seem pretty solid to me. Better alternative than Progressive and Buffett’s Geico perhaps?
Not as much as that cell phone commercial where everything is being draped in orange canvas. I used to like that song. But it's on all the freakin' time!
I figure whoever writes their ads hates men. All the men in their ads are either gay, (the couple where one sold his watch to the other,) or else they’re wimpy nerds. Like the ad with the guy wearing the purse! And I saw one the other day where a grown man couldn’t buy Progressive Insurance because his mommy wouldn’t let him drive the car! I guess they don’t want males as customers.
A reputable company will do what they can to avoid paying false claims, but will not hesitate to pay legitimate claims. Anytime they refuse to pay on a legitimate claim they lose a customer and get that former customer complaining to all his friends about the poor treatment he received from the company.
The amount of advertising by Progressive and Geico makes me wonder if their approach may tend toward a willingness to cheat their customers on legitimate claims. They may figure that the advertising is a necessary cost to continually replace the customers they lose.
As a rule of thumb, I usually assume that the less advertising a company does, the more likely that the company emphasizes keeping existing customers happy instead of having to find ways of replacing the ones that left. The guy that did the roofing on my house does no advertising at all. Not even a yellow pages ad or a listing in the newspaper. His customers all come from word of mouth referrals, and he's always got more work than he can handle.
Name a reputable insurance company that has not committed fraud and or been in violation of law.
I don't know what the answer to your question would be, but I'd bet it would be easier finding an insurance company that hasn't commmitted fraud or been in violation of law than to find ANY person in this country that has never been in violation of some law.
I thought you were talking about reputable insurance companies, not individual people or their comparisons.
Peter Lewis appears to be one of those aggressive, talented executives who clawed his way to the top. You gotta be in awe of someone so determined to make it in the business world. /s
The first clue to stay away from this insurance company is in their name - PROGRESSIVE (duh!!).
