Obamacare won't be repealed (GOP likes the power they will inherit)
The New Republic ^ | 9/08/2010 | ak267

Health care reform repeal activist Michael Tanner complains that none of the Democrats who voted against the Affordable Care Act have signed on to repeal. Meanwhile, Republicans are decidedly lukewarm:

Among the six Republicans who have not signed either discharge petition are senatorial candidates Mark Kirk in Illinois and Mike Castle in Delaware. This is particularly surprising in the case of Kirk, who once vowed to “lead the effort” to repeal the health-care law.

Get used to it folks. The GOP wants the power this new program will bring. HELLO CANADIAN HORROR STORIES!!!!

Repeal and replace??? More like Keep and enhance.

Will this be the reason for the eventual GOP civil war of RINOS vs conservatives???? Is it gonna have to take a conservative President with some juice to make the changes???

Politics as usual. The golden goose is terminally ill and neither party recognizes that fact or cares.

I’ve been taking a LOT of heat from some of the more closed minded broken glass Republicans on this site for saying this exact thing.

Sure, we ARE going to win 100 seats this November. Senate, House and Governors. But. It will NOT change things.

The majority of the GOP, and especially the leadership does not WANT to, and WILL NOT repeal ObamaCare.

They won’t even SUGGEST it.

They will “FIX” it. Make it a kinder, gentler socialized system.

I know people around here think that I am Ms Negative, but, reality BITES people.

And these SOBs are going to betray us to our bitter end as a nation.

I wish it would be a civil war. But a majority HERE will be telling us to sit down and shut up and go along with it.

Just like they did for every damnable BUSH nonsense.

Be ready for it. You have been warned.

Well when you have great “conservatives” like Palin, Myth Romney, Huckerbee, Newt the adulterer, Fred and assorted other idiots backing DIABLOS like McCain then you have to wonder.

That is what us Conservatives need to keep a sharp eye out for. I did not like the answers Boehner(sp) was giving to of all people Hugh Hewitt when questioned on his radio show a week or so ago. Pretty wishy washy answers. My suspicions of the RNC are very high and I don’t trust them.

If the Pubbies take power in November (they will) and do not repeal ObamaCare, a third party will form and will finish the job. It may not be that clean or simple, but it will happen.

The arrogance of DC must die a brutal death. It is TIME to DownSize DC!

The Tea Party has to weed out the RINOs.

There needs to be at least a dime's worth of difference between the two parties.

We will fight, but I think it will be repealed. The American people hate this law.

Shocking, the "New Republic" sewing seeds of dissention in the Republican Party. /s

No, it won't be repealled. Why? Because Obama will veto any attempt to repeal it, and there won't be enough votes in in Congress - probably ever - to override the veto. Moreover, even if the GOP takes back the WH and both houses in 2012, there's still the matter of the filibuster, and other procedural hurdles.

Obamacare will die its death in the Judiciary.

The House can defund it. Bohener better not back down. The fact he was on anti-birther saudi lover Hugh Hewitt’s show is not a good sign.

Considering every Republican ad I see on TV contains a promise to repeal Obamacare, the GOP is setting up a lot of people to be royally pissed at them.
