A New Hampshire high school student shocked so severely in shop class that his heart stopped beating is suing his teacher, the school district and the city of Dover.
Kyle Dubois and his parents claim teacher Thomas Kelley did not warn Dubois and other students of the dangers of the electrical demonstration cords in their electrical trades class.
On March 11, Dubois attached an electrical clamp to one nipple while another student attached another clamp to the other. A third student plugged in the cord.
Dubois was critically injured.
If we could only harness that power... somehow.
Yeh...Judge could order him to put his finger in a light socket
IN FRONT OF A HUGE AUDIENCE
When the kid refuses, he goes to jail for 30 days for contempt.
he should get thrown in the can for being so stupid.
Your FOX NEWS post is quite similar to this AP post on exactly the same topic. Must have copied over the wrong URL ~ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2580867/posts
Good thing it wasnt welding class
Most of the stuff is light amperage...if it was like our 110, he would vibrate a bit and his own reflexes would probably drop the connection. 110/220 isn’t bad with low amperage. I have had 110 at 15 amps for a couple of seconds and it ain’t that much fun.
Suing for his lack of common sense? Thats the problem with it all he talked to a lawyer and wants some “easy” money.
Some stories just make ylou shake your head and wonder how anyone could be that stupid? Hey kid even 110 is going to hurt like h*ll! If I were him I’d be too embarassed to sue.
All I read was that there was an attachment of clamps and someone else plugging the wires into 110 outlet. I read nothing about a stepdown transformer or anything that would give less then the full force of 110 across the students chess.
110 volts AC will kill.
If anyone should be sued it should be the student that plugged the device into the 110 outlet.
I guess these idiots didn’t see the movie TAKEN....
Man I hate it when that happens.
This sounds like a case for... The Penis Pump Judge.

The problem is the 60 Hz frequency. Human muscle and nerves respond and depolarize very quickly in this frequency range, even at very low voltage. The old saying is true in general that voltage bites, but current is what kills. But even then, at either DC or very high frequencies, a low voltage doesn't affect tissue much. The 50 to 120 or so Hz range is a much different story. When the tissue being affected is cardiac tissue - you've got problems. Setting up a circuit from one tit to the other puts the heart smack dab in the middle of it. The story said his heart stopped. The circuit put the heart tissue in tetanus mode. Stopped heart = no blood to the brain. After 5 min without O2 brain tissue dies. Report claims the boy suffered brain damage.
Sad story. I hope the teacher had nothing to do with this stunt.
I used to practice law—business litigation. When my partners whined about stupid, greedy, or dishonest clients, I always pointed out that without greed, dishonesty, and stupidity, noone would need lawyers and we’d be looking for jobs.
I think this guy is trying to milk the school and the city dry.
too bad it didn’t kill him and eliminate it from the gene pool!
From girls with long hair around...........
