The announcement today of a newfound group of alien planets orbiting a distant star has added another candidate for the growing list of potential Earth-sized worlds beyond our own solar system.
Astronomers still have to confirm the presence of the possible Earth-sized world. But they suspect it has a radius just 1.5 times that of Earth, which would make it the smallest alien planet yet found, if confirmed.

Somebody better get to work on some kind of warp drive or something. I ain’t getting any younger.
I prefer hyperspace technology or a Stargate would be even better...
I find this very interesting. I also believe we are in the last days before the end of “The Times of the Gentiles” here on earth; and Christ comes back to straighten things out.
Methinks the people who claim to find these other “worlds” are desperate to find some evidence that Earth and the Human Race and everything else do not represent a Special Creation and that this and all these other worlds just happened by chance; and that there is not a Holy God to whom everyone must give an account some day.
Bottom line? I think whether or not they’ve found other planets doesn’t amount to diddly! And according to 2nd Peter, it is doubtful whether anything in the heavens as we know them will remain as it is when God finishes cleansing this sin-cursed creation and his Eternal Reign begins.
“(2Pe 3:10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
(2Pe 3:11) Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
(2Pe 3:12) Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
(2Pe 3:13) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
(2Pe 3:14) Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
(2Pe 3:15) And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;.....”
You just know there would be a few liberals looking for a “free ride” to a new planet. So much for a liberal free existence on an alien planet.
Wow. Calm down, dude. It’s just astronomy.
Sorry god created the heavens.. So my faith in God is not in jeopardy cause of stuff like this.. Never have nor it never will.
With Six You Get Eggroll.
This means that in order to travel to these light year destinations, that we would have to be transformed into an energy beam.
Star Trek was fun to watch, but I can only believe that God could move us that fast.
I know Man could never fly right... There are scientists right now trying to break the FTL barrier.. Once we do look out.. God gave us the ability to think..
What is the FTL barrier, and thank God that we were given. the opportunity to think?
If they are Class M planets, Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock will beam down to investigate.
I’ll go but I’m changing out of the red shirt first.
50% bigger than Earth and if its in the “habitable” zone would make it a good target for further research.
In the next life we will not travel as slow as the speed of light. Much too slow. At that speed, if Heaven is not simply in another Dimension; and if it really is on the edge of the discernable Universe, which is something over 12 billion light years away, Christ would still be enroute back to Heaven, even though He started over 200 years ago. At the speed of light it would take 12 billion years to make the trip.
In the next life, in our Glorified Bodies, just like Christ had when He walked out of the tomb in Jerusalem on that first Easter Morning, we will travel at the SPEED OF THOUGHT! INSTANTANEOUS!
FTL = Faster Than Light Barrier. Einstein postulated that it would take increasingly more energy to power a spacecraft the faster it goes. This is if the energy had to be stored on-board and the more energy to store would mean the larger the spacecraft would need to be.
At the point where the spacecraft approaches the speed of light the amount of energy required would become infinite.
It might be possible to travel at 99% the speed of light but likely impossible to actually travel at or above light speed.
Even if traveling at light speed was possible it could not occur in normal space. Imagine how much energy a grain traveling at the speed of light would impart if it was to impact a stationary object? Now imagine a large object like a spacecraft traveling at the speed of light striking a grain of sand just free-floating in space. The impact would trigger an explosion many magnitudes larger than the largest nuclear blast.
