Amen...I have always thought the first two Queen albums were vastly underrated...
Trower never gets any love...what a BS list.
I think that is the issue with some that are deserving and not on the list. A lot of great chops, but not a full album really.
I’m not really sure about putting a Chuck Berry’s greatest hits on the list either. Seems like cheating.
Mark Knophler is one of the top players ever. Gibson list is horsepuckey.
I saw Van Halen, AC/DC and Guns & Roses.
All of them were excellent shows.
I also saw ‘Van Hagar’, which was pretty good too!
another list, no jethro Tull. I’m glad they aren’t in the RnRoll HoF. They don’t deserve Ian Anderson and Martin Barre.
It was funny the other day I saw an article that asked if it was fair to hold SRV’s career against Hendrix. Although most of his complaints were about 80’s production.
And where the hell is Ted Nugent? Stranglehold anyone? Geeze
He played so incredibly fast, and hit notes only a dog could hear.
Jethro Tull is a band that doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Not sure why. Probably people mad about them getting an award at the grammy’s they actually didn’t deserve.
...or Ritchie Blackmore’s guitar work on Rainbow’s ‘Rising’ LP..?
Actually if we’re talking full blown guitar ALBUMS you have to include: Ted Nugent “Live Gonzo” and Blue Oyster Cult’s “On your feet or on your knees”, another live one that is just flat out wall to wall guitar. Everyone in Blue Oyster Cult could play lead and at one part in every show all six guys in the band would strap on a Gibson and stand in line trading guitar leads back and forth.
Yah, no Tull :(
Aqualung, Stand Up, and Benefit certainly deserve mention ... if not all at least one of 'em ... I'd vote Benefit
METAL Ping List!
Terrible list No Pink Floyd? What the hell. Dark Side of the moon. The Wall- best guitar song of all time. Confortably Numb...
This list isn’t complete without Rory Gallagher!
The Captain Beyond album deserves mention also.
Or Peter Banks and Flash...I could go on and on...
WHAT??? No Link Wray??? Oh yeah, I forgot - “Nobody played guitars in the 50’s”.
Half of these guys learned their riffs from Link Wray when they were about 13, and most of them will admit it.
Stevie Ray should be at least a 5 or 4.. He could strum that thing.
Id vote Benefit too...probably in my top five favorite albums of all time.
