SAUKVILLE, Wis., Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Police in a Wisconsin town said they issued a $429 ticket to a man who allegedly told a fellow grocery store customer she was "ugly and fat."
Saukville police said the woman was shopping at the Piggly Wiggly and obtained permission from a clerk to use the express checkout lane, despite having more than 10 items, Milwaukee's WTMJ-AM reported Thursday.
However, another customer expressed displeasure at the woman being allowed to skirt the item limit.
"The female subject, the complainant, then turned back toward the man (and said) 'I got permission here. Is there a problem?' That's when the person said to her, 'Yeah, the problem is that you're ugly and fat,'" officer Barry Effinger said.
Effinger said the man allegedly continued to harass the woman until she called police.
The man, who Effinger said has a history of anger problems, was issued a citation for $429.
What would the “Badged Bachelor’s Child In Uniform” have done if the man had sung “Short Folks” but changed it to fat folks?
‘Yeah, the problem is that you’re ugly and fat,’”

Such a feminine way to describe a person who speaks unpleasant truths. Another: "that was inappropriate".

Feelings
By Morris Albert
Feelings, nothing more than feelings
Trying to forget my feelings of love
Teardrops rolling down on my face
Trying to forget my feelings of love
Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it
I wish I've never met you, girl
You'll never come again
Feeling, woo-o-o feeling
Woo-o-o, feel you again in my arms
Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
And feelings like I'll never have you again in my heart
Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it
I wish I've never met you, girl; you'll never come again
Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
And feelings like I'll never have you again in my life
Feelings, woo-o-o feeling it,
woo-o-o, feeling again in my arms

BTW, beauty and fatness is SUBJECTIVE.
I think i’ve been to that store...hahaha
He may be out $429.00, but she is still ugly and fat...
I can’t help but be reminded of a Rodney Dangerfield joke involving a second opinion from a doctor.
Piggly Wiggly is a good place for her to work!
Perhaps she is a walking, talking advertizement?
;)
Have a sense of humor.
If the employees said they would ring up the woman’s purchase, another customer should just shut up or shop somewhere else. Ideally, the (allegedly) fat woman should have kept silent, paid for her groceries, and left. Who cares what trash think or say? Scrape ‘em off your shoe and move on, honey.
Henny Youngman.
I’d like to know what law this guy actually broke to warrant a ticket. 1st amendment mean anything to these stupid cops? The guy was rude, but the last time I looked it wasn’t against the law to be rude to someone. I wonder if the “fat and ugly” woman knows the cop in question?
The guy was an incredible jerk. I doubt anyone would appreciate having their mother, sister or wife endure this lowlife’s harassment. I wish the cop had punched him in his snout and given him the ticket.
It’s hard to find a “good guy” in this story. Guy gets worked up and rude and apparently continues to verbally assault another customer in the checkout line at a grocery store. (Employee should have called a manager to deal with the situation or at the very least tried to diffuse the situation.) Woman overreacts by calling 911 to report being insulted. Cop writes a “disorderly conduct” ticket for the guy (but apparently does not write up the woman for using 911 for a non-emergency call).
So if I happen to be in that town and a woman comes up to me and asks, “Does this dress make me look fat?” and I reply, “It’s not the dress, but the fat that makes you look fat.” does that qualify me for a $429 ticket, also?
Since when can you get fined for stating an opinion?
D’oh! I just remembered that Nazi Pelosi is wanting to investigate any dissenters of the mosque. That probably now translates into fining Joe Sixpack for anything the Left and women find disagreeable, distasteful, or not to their liking.
I agree with your assessment.
Yeah, but we don’t know what they mean by “continuig to harass her”. Did the guy follow her out of the store? Did he threaten her? Apparently, the cops have had problems with this guy before, so they understood the woman’s fear.
Ticket is invalid and will be dismissed.
First Amendment.
Uhm....If she is Fat and Ugly the only crime is his inability to compress meaning into a solid insult.
She was Fugly.
