It sure can be aggravating when someone in the express check out line has more than 10 items.
But calling a woman fat and ugly is taking things too far.
Police report a man who berated a woman in a Washington state grocery store is now charged with disorderly conduct.
The Port Washington woman said she asked the express lane clerk if she could check out.
There was no one else in line.
But while the cashier was ringing up her items, a male customer started making ugly comments.
The woman called 911.
The responding officer gave the angry male customer a $429 ticket.
The woman tells a local TV station (WISN) the man deserves it.

But...if she is actually fat then how could he be fined for just stating the obvious?
I wonder if his cheap shot was worth 429 dollars.
We are a town of 10K. Disorderly conduct tickets are given out easily. Revenue.
That said, this is the store I shop at. The cashiers are wonderful and helpful. So, if there is no one in line, they will ask if you want to check out even if you have more than the designated number of items. Especially in the liquor dept. You cannot buy booze in except in there and there is a limit of 6 grocery items. But, they are generous with that! lol Plus, remember we are in Wisconsin; the guy could have been blasted and got really nasty. lol
I would not have called 911, but intimidating and berating a customer, not a good idea. She may have felt threatened. There are some big ole boys here.
This was Port Washington, WISCONSIN, not Washington state.
Second, she was neither that fat or that ugly, we know thanks to Palter.
Geez, that guy needs to see some of the “ladies” at Walmart in Houston. Whew !
The guy was an ass. Evidently he has anger issues because this is his second offense. I don’t think she is either fat or ugly.
Yes, you are right. Treating people with respect is never a good idea. lol j/k It is not a bad town, really.
The cops do love to issue tickets. And, disorderly conduct is the preferred charge.
Saukville/Port ping
I would feel intimidated and threatened if someone started ranting on me. My sister was in a fender-bender accident (her fault) and admitted it. The other driver, another woman, kept calling her a "stupid, f___ing $itch" over and over. She warned the lady to stop yelling at her and calling her that name, but the woman woudn't, so my sis called the cops and the woman got the ticket. Not many cities in Texas give tickets for minor accidents, nor do they show up normally. I think her ticket was for "disturbing the peace."
People need to learn to have some patience.
A regular rock concert...
No bias there: she’s a woman, but he’s a male.
Sounds like his rights were violated for exercising his 1st amendment rights. 911? Seriously?
It’s hard to imagine that this much stupid happened without at least some beer.....
The real solution is to charge a 50% surcharge on all items over 10, beginning with the highest priced item and working down from there.
You’re probably on to something.
“Decisions to this effect are many, but examination discloses that, in practically all, the provocative language which was held to amount to a breach of the peace consisted of profane, indecent, or abusive remarks directed to the person of the hearer.
Resort to epithets or personal abuse is not in any proper sense communication of information or opinion safeguarded by the Constitution, and its punishment as a criminal act would raise no question under that instrument.”
Because who knew that calling a fat and ugly woman. . .uh. . .fat and ugly. . .was a crime? More than likely he thought SHE would be prosecuted for a false 9-1-1 call.
Good gawd. . .she actually IS fat and ugly.
I guess truth is no defense.
I apparently have been around the ‘city’ too long.
I was thinking this was a ‘road rage’ incident.
Oh well.
Wow, the “fat & ugly” insults just had to be thrown around in a “Piggly Wiggly”, eh? I should have seen that coming...
I think having someone ranting after a car accident that you caused and feeling like things may escalate after the name calling to them hauling off and slugging you is probably a more appropriate and warranted time for calling the cops.
Well, we alrady know he’s an idiot
