I’ve been asthmatic for 55 years that I remember. The thought of an object in the lungs horrifies me.

It could have been worse. He’d never live down the “pea brain” jokes if it had been found in his skull.

Hmm. Do you also find yourself attracted to catnip and strangely alert at the sound of a can being opened?

There was a Russian man who was growing part of a pine tree in his lung. This was reported about 5 years ago.

Words you don’t want to hear from your doctor: “Wow, would you look at that!”

LOL... no kidding. I've had that happen. Many years ago I breathed in some smoke from a campfire... and somehow there was some poison oak mixed in the firewood. I had a bad systemic reaction that resulted, among other things, in my face swelling so much that I couldn't even feel where my nose or eyes were. Couldn't see at all.

When I finally got to the emergency room the doctor came in and gasped loudly and said basically that same thing. He asked if he could take some pictures-- because he'd never seen anything like it before. I said sure. I had to laugh at that. I suppose my picture is now out there somewhere in a medical textbook. :-)
