Perhaps, but how is something his Great-great-grandfather did a part of that? Mine was one of Jesse James’ blacksmiths, but what has that to do with me?

You are right. But I was referring to his policies and speeches. Not his ancestors.

Probably an attempt to blame the white man for what he did to the pure as the driven snow, noble savages.

I guess we can scratch the whole nature vs nurture debate. ;') Thanks Cindy.

Leaving aside the fact that the sins of the father should not be visited on the son (or indeed great great great grandson) so what if he did? Did the British/East India Company Armies do wrong in suppressing the mutiny? Read what happened at the Siege of Cawnpore, and you’ll see that bad stuff didn’t just happen from one side.

Exactly. This is a nonsense story. Mr Cameron is NOT his great, great, grandfather. We are all responsible for our own actions, not those of other people - not even blood relatives. Ronald Reagan was an offshoot of the British Royal Family x number of generations back. That doesn’t make him a closet monarchist.

The point about the nature vs nurture debate is that leftists adopt different sides of it depending on the argument in question :) They believe nature when it suits them (homosexuality) but nurture when it doesn’t (poverty).

Right! My Great-grandmother went on a walk and shared a glass of lemonade with Cole Younger once. That doesn’t make me an outlaw. My Great-great grandfather received the Medal of Honor at the Battle of Nashville. That doesn’t make me a hero either.
