HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- The man who went on a shooting rampage at a beer distributor calmly told a 911 operator that it was "a racist place" and that he had taken matters into his own hands and "handled the problem."

I have no doubt he was caught doing that red-handed. I’m just sayin’ that there may have been more than JUST that going on. For all we know, the “stealing of beer” was his first response to the racism he is claiming he endured and getting fired for it caused him to ramp it up.
I’m not saying it is what happened. Rather, I am saying it is possible and, frankly, plausible. But I couldn’t say any more than that because there are no facts revealed to strengthen or weaken it.
If Omar Thornton says there was racism, then I have to believe there was not.
I don’t take the word of thieves and murderers...
The only indication of racism is the word of a girlfriend who is “worried about the way her boyfriend is being perceived” and the rant of a guy who murdered innocent people after being terminated for theft.
Anyone who puts stock in his claims is foolish in my book.

What really pisses me off is that the people he murdered are being accused of being racist by his garbage family and worthless girlfriend. Screw them and anybody in the media that gives ANY creedence to this bullshit.
BTW, his “handled the problem” must be taken in the context of what he then did coupled with what is known about his personality in general. It actually adds credibility to his claim.
Again, to be clear, what he did was clearly wrong, even if everything he claims is true.

Indeed who gives a s**t! We have all kinds of people wringing their hands over 'racism'. America is a an extremely dysfunctional and pathetic place anymore. Lord have mercy a black man MURDERS 9 white people BECAUSE THEY ARE WHITE and the overriding concern is the evil white man. Actually, neither side can speak for themself at this point. But the evidence would still exist. There are a lot of employees still alive.
To be charitable, I think you’re cutting this guy too much slack. From the results, I’d say most of the serious racism here was on his part. And even among seriously insane people, the fact is that 99.99% of them don’t resort to murder.
If the term “hate crime” had any meaning other than as a convenient PC club to use on unfavored categories of offender, this would be considered a hate crime par excellence.

How the word a people uses for itself became a slur is a great mystery to me. It's as if I were to be vastly offended if someone referred to me as an American.

How many times have we seen the “noose” canard that he alleged? How many time has that been a race-baiting trick? Hint: ALL of them!
Race-baiters and those who buy into their tripe live largely in the past when nooses were common symbols of intimidation. To them, nooses still are. Most other people - even racist ones - don’t live in the past, at least not to the same extent. The idea of a noose as a symbol of racist intimidation doesn’t even cross their minds.
That right there makes me think he was (1) a liar, (2) delusional, or (3) both.
What’s sure is that he was a murdering POS and a worthless thief...
