Any FReepers going to the Freedom Concert in New Jersey this Friday night? We are going and would love to wear something that other FReepers could identify themselves. I guess it will be a huge space and crowd so the chance of identifying anyone would be small, but what the heck.
You and wife I saw are planning on coming out for this.
Are any of you planning on going to the Freedom Concert in New Jersey?
Any of you going?
doubt it
We paid a LOT of money last year for Gold tickets on the promise that we were getting some special close-to-the-stage seating. We ended up in the same damn hard bleacher-type seats we've been in every year, FAR from the stage. I admit I was pretty ticked off about that after paying so much money.
Although we love to support this charity, it's just too much, and we've noticed the quality of the event overall has been slipping over the years. Sean used to do a live broadcast of his radio show hours before the concert with special guests like Gary Sinise, Ann Coulter, Ollie North, Curtis Sliwa, Mark Levin and the beloved Marty (God rest his soul). The radio broadcast was one of the big attractions for us... it's hugely disappointing that he doesn't do it anymore apparently.
Sean didn't do the live radio show broadcast the past couple of years, although I noticed last year he did a live broadcast of his TV show in San Diego, where the ticket prices are lower, btw. So concert-goers in San Diego got to be part of the fun of the live TV broadcast, plus enjoyed the same concert we saw in NJ.
We don't like the Six Flags, Jackson, NJ venue either. The amusement park crowds can be kind of rough, and the place is SO crowded. The only food we've been able to find there before the concert (without waiting forever to be waited on) are soggy hot dogs. Long lines at every restroom, too.
I really wish he'd have that concert at an indoor venue that has decent restrooms nearby as well. It's OK if the weather is nice, but we've had to dodge the rain drops - and thunder storms - a few too many times over the years.
Maybe next year... although I think I'd prefer to attend the San Diego or Las Vegas concert instead of the NJ one.
No, never even thought about it.
We’re in Philly and will be staying with friends in Lancaster, PA. All 4 of us will be at 6 flags early for the rides and can’t wait to see the concert
We can try to meet through this thread
Here is a pic from the last time I went, on the anniversary of 9/11.
Sean said he is doing the radio show from NJ on Friday
We dodged TStorms flying in last night (listened to the flight deck chatter on the in plane stereo) and the humidity this morning is killer ( we’re from the dry heat part of the country)
We paid for gold tix hope it’s not as bad as you said. My wife went to San Diego last year and loved it. This is our first trip to Joisey
Please let me know how the radio broadcast is, and how the experience is for you overall (and if there are any decent places to get FOOD at Six Flags!). Your comments will aid in our decision whether or not to attend a Freedom Concert in 2011. Have a great time! :o)
Will do
Just learned of a fellow in Bozrah, CT who has two tickets for the concert. Let me know if you want to contact.
Yikes, we got tickets late so must be seated somewhere near the back. Hope we like the concert cause I can get miserable real fast!!! You are right about the cost as we had to get a motel room too, just to far from CT late at night.
Just received an email that there is a guy in Bozrah, CT who has two tickets for the concert. If you are interested or know of someone let me know I’ll give you contact.
I really hope you have a good time at Sean’s concert! Please let me know how your experience was at Six Flags in NJ...
I’m here 10 rows back from stage center. so far so good. No assigned seats but got here early
Easy to get here. Gold tix got us chair seats on the floor
Still an hour to showtime
What FReepers are here? Wave to me. Hehehehe

Wow, thanks for your on-the-scene report, hattend! I am happy for you, but that is SO not like the 2009 concert was for us. I'm assuming there must have been a lot of complaints about last year's concert, especially over the Gold seating and the lack of a radio broadcast. So improvements must have been made for the 2010 concert in NJ.
I assume you are in the "Northern Star" outdoor arena (I think that was the name). Our Gold tix seats last year were the bleachers that were furthest from the stage. There were no "chair seats". If they have the beer stands set up as usual, those are the bleachers behind those beer stands. And Sean didn't do his live radio show beforehand either, like I mentioned before.
We are in northern Connecticut, about 240 miles NE of Jackson, NJ. If you have the same weather we have up here right now, you're enjoying one BEAUTIFUL evening! :o)
You'll LOVE the concert. We've seen Charlie Daniels and his band several times, and Michael W. Smith is awesome. Haven't seen Lynyrd Skynyrd, but I'm sure they'll be great as well.
Enjoy the concert and I look forward to hearing more about your experience.
Yep. Northern star arena. Beautiful night. You are right therev are some gold seats up in the bleachers but most are on the floor in folding chairs
Skynard is on right now and they are awesome but hint ti Sean if yoiu are reading this... They are way too freaking loud. Turn them down at the next venues
My ears are bleeding!!!
Rock on!!
My ears are bleeding!!!
LOL, thanks for the reminder... Next year I'll be sure to bring two sets of ear plugs! ;-)
