Marlin 1894 Cowboy ( 45 Colt)
Youtube ^ | 4 August, 2010 | Hickok45

Hickok45 video having some fun and gunning with one of mine and his favorite Marlins, the 1894 Cowboy Limited in .45 Colt caliber. This rifle is a jewel and so much fun to shoot. The .45 Colt is a great flexible round.

I like my .357 Marlin and Winchester lever guns.

The lever .45 Colt goes hand in hand with a fine revolver in the same caliber.

I’m into water-cooled belt feds, but those are sexy firearms.

I've been looking at a Redhawk in the same caliber. I have two Blackhawks in .45 colt/.45 ACP.

I'm a big fan of the .45 caliber.

In .45 Colt I only have one, a 1925 Colt New Service with factory ivory grips.

You might check some of Hickok45’s other videos as I believe he has something similar that he demonstrates. It may even be a model from the 1800’s. The firing pin is built onto the hammer.

The New Service was Colt’s big double action. He’s probably shooting the SAA.

Firing pins on the hammer were common until the 1990’s with both Smith and Colt.

I've been seriously considering an Uberti Top Break in .45 Colt for some time...probably be my next purchase if and when I can decide between the 5" and 7" barrel.

I’ve contemplated the .44 Russian if it comes in .44 Special.

Yep, it was a SAA. I’ll check out the Colt double action but I’m mostly a Ruger fan. Thanks

I like Rugers Blackhawks, but their DA revolvers leave a lot to be desired unless you are shooting big heavy loads.

Mostly I’m a S&W N-Frame guy.

That would be sweet. Unfortunately, right now the only .44 caliber offerings are the 1875 in .44-40 and the .44 Russian in.....44 Russian.

Yep unfortunate, the .44 Special is the successor to the .44 Russian. And the .44-40, well... no interest other than a bunch of yuppies have their repro Winchester ‘73’s chambered for it.

If the cylinder is long enough I might bet Bowen to rechamber one. Pricey, but why not?

This is what I'm looking at getting next. I've owned the Redhawk in 454 casull. It was just too big and cumbersome.

"MY WALLET CURSES YOU!!!"

I scrimp and save, doing without a lot of the creature comforts most people consider necessities. I live like a monk with a dog and a gun safe.
