Dog advocate Tamira Ci Thayne said she's tried for six years to get a law passed that bans chaining dogs "the nicey-nice way" and it hasn't worked. So she's taken her message to the state Capitol steps and tethered herself to a dog house to make her point.
Thayne is the head of Operation Fido's Freedom, a campaign by the advocacy organization Dogs Deserve Better, and is supporting a bill before a state Senate committee that would ban chaining dogs from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Apparently this wacko chained to a dog house is supposed to make people want to unchain things ...
... kinda makes me lean toward chaining-up wackos, though. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if liberal “activists” were chained up?

I think the most annoying thing about the apocalypse is going to be having to step around the corpses of people like this.

Hope and Chains
Hope she brought a lot of chains.
There are 535 dogs inside the Capitol that need to be chained up.

I agree with this woman; I don’t like to see dogs on chains either. If you can’t walk them, or hire someone to do so, or have sufficient time to care for them, then one should rethink dog ownership. But as to her protest, it’s a little silly. If she goes out there from 10 p.m.-6 a.m., I’ll take her more seriously. Also, I’m curious to know what her stance is on “Life.”

First thing that came to mind was the Far Side “Tethercat” cartoon. We can’t post Far Side cartoons here, but you can just go to Google images and type in “Tethercat.”

Here’s my ranking of radicals:
1) Pet lovers (the most radical and fanatical by far, whether they be on the far left of right, it really doesn’t matter)
2) Environmental whacko’s - not as bad as the pet lovers.

As long as she can’t UNchain herself from that site, I don’t see a problem here.

This seems more like a state’s rights issue than a Federal one.

As much as I dislike tethering poor dogs, I dislike government intrusion in my life even more.
