Elementary Teacher Charged with Sex With 12 Year Old Boy
WOAI ^ | 8/1/10 | Jim Forsyth

Posted on 08/02/2010 7:13:54 AM PDT by laotzu

San Antonio police Saturday night arrested a 38 year old teacher in the Northside ISD and charged her with engaging in sexual activity with a 12 year old boy.

An arrest warrant obtained by 1200 WOAI news claims that Lucinda Caldwell, 38, is a fifth grade teacher at Cable Elementary School on Pinn Road.

The affidavit claims Caldwell picked up the boy at his far west side home Friday night and drove to a hotel, where the sexual contact allegedly took place.

But when she tried to return the youngster to his home early Saturday, his dad was waiting, so she drove off and drove into Medina County, where police there arrested her and rescued the boy.

It is not known whether the boy is a student of Caldwell's, or whether he attends Cable Elementary School. Caldwell is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. A spokesman at the Bexar County Jail said he didn't have information on whether bond had been set.

Officials didn't say how the contact between the boy and the teacher was made, because school is not in session, or whether the two had some sort of ongoing relationship.

Durus, I simply can’t and won’t deal with your persistent denial of the systemic failure of child protective services in general, and Florida in specific.

This is just another of your irrelevant arguments in your futile effort to come up with any logical rational to overturn age of consent laws. Regardless if child protective services has or is failing, this provides no justification. It's a perfect example of non-sequitur.

I have come to the conclusion further effort is fruitless. Your faith in bureaucrats being able to achieve what no other socialist system has accomplished is hardly something I share or understand.

I have never advocated any faith in any socialist system or in bureaucrats. This is simple minded obfuscation at best. You can go as far back as the code of Hammurabi and find laws against molesting children but despite everything you want to overturn these laws.

I simply will not respond to any further historically wrong whopper of yours such as the following from your post #202". Marriages occurred far earlier than your revanchist “history” claims.

Age of marriage is irrelevant to your desire to overturn age of consent laws, regardless, provide some evidence that the average age of marriage in western cultures has been much different then the middle 20's.

Credible post result from a researched premise, not what you want history to have been. True for marriage ages in ages past, and true of the parent’s ownership of the children. It has been interesting, but has become fruitless. Consider premise revision.

You sound drunk. You have provided no evidence that anything I said was incorrect. When all your premises are proven false and futile obfuscations revealed, why do you persist in your desire to overturn age of consent laws? Did you read "Bio of a Space Tyrant" as a teen and think "wow that's a great idea" without any critical thinking? This is irrational behavior. A rational person has to ask from whence your irrationality stems.

can any FReeper point me to real hard data showing actual damages to a young male getting an early introduction to sex?... My question is about ...demonstrated damage to the male in the same age group, so specific references would be appreciated.

If you need it pointed out to you, please do not attempt marriage, and especially not parenthood.

Sexual assault of boys by females... is grossly underreported. In his book Abused Boys: The Neglected Victims of Sexual Abuse, psychologist and therapist Mic Hunter stated that "women account for 20% of the [sexual] abuse of boys." Boys are harmed by having sexual contact with an adult of either gender. It causes psychological trauma and pain, as does any other form of assault. Loss of self-esteem, shame, guilt and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are but a few of the consequences, according to Hunter, who deals with many male victims of childhood sexual abuse.

***

Differentiating Abusive From Nonabusive Sexual Acts
Three factors are useful in clinically differentiating abusive from nonabusive acts – power differential; knowledge differential; and gratification differential....

Power differential...persons in authority positions, such as a teacher, minister, or Boy Scout leader, are in roles that connote power. Thus, sexual activities between these individuals and their charges are abusive. Power can also derive from the larger size or more advanced capability of the offender...[or] out of the offender's superior capability to psychologically manipulate the victim..

 • Knowledge differential ...when one party (the offender) has a more sophisticated understanding of the significance and implications of the sexual encounter. ...the offender [is] at least 5 years older than the victim for the act to be deemed predatory. ...Generally, the younger the child, the less able she/he is to appreciate the meaning and potential consequences of a sexual relationship, especially one with an adult. ...some researchers have used an age cutoff of 13 for boy victims... However, clinicians report situations in which boys victimized after age 13 experience significant trauma from these sexual contacts.

Gratification differential....the primary purpose of the sexual activity is to obtain gratification for the perpetrator....

The myth that men can’t be victimized... by women is firmly entrenched... Many men who dare acknowledge that they were sexually abused by women are cruelly laughed at and humiliated.... Many men who were sexually abused by women feel deeply ashamed of themselves, their sexuality, and their gender.... they believe that there must be something profoundly wrong with them that they were abused in this way. Some men defend against feeling this way by being in a constant state of anger or rage - one of the few emotions that are socially acceptable for men. Many male survivors cope... by drinking, using drugs, living recklessly, avoiding intimate relationships, numbing their feelings, dissociating, and becoming depressed, anxious or angry....

“You sound drunk.”

Sorry, I don’t drink. Try another of your ad hominum arguments. On second thought, spare all of us all of them.

“You have provided no evidence that anything I said was incorrect.”

Read what you posted, and what I replied to those posts. Denial won’t change history or hard data.

“When all your premises are proven false and futile obfuscations revealed,”

They have not, sorry.

” why do you persist in your desire to overturn age of consent laws?”

Nowhere did I call for “overturn” of age of consent laws. What I did was point out some of the many rather emotionally argued faulty premises and historic errors.

I did suggest an addition to such laws to return the balancing of rights to a more historically validated point than the present system.

” Did you read “Bio of a Space Tyrant” as a teen and think “wow that’s a great idea” without any critical thinking?’”

I never heard of it. That it sticks in your mind may be something of significance, though to whom I really can’t determine.

“This is irrational behavior.”

If history and hard data are, to you, irrational, get some help. Your endless attempts to paint me with things I didn’t post, and ignoring and/or denying anything you wish in your attempts to attack me, make me wonder.

Why do you feel such a need to attack me personally, rather than attempting to better dear with the facts and history I posted?

As I tried to politely say a day or so ago,I have neither the time, not the willingness to continue with this thread.

Why you are so driven to continue is not something I wish to either understand or deal with, as the subject was not of central importance to me given that I am not in a decision making position, legislatively.

As I also can not walk on water, arguably, I am also not in a position to amend Judeo-Christian theology.

Philoosophy is also not an area where I am able to actualize real change.

As I suspect you are likewise unable to effect any change in any of the areas I mentioned in the previous three sentences, and as you seem unable to drop the issues, you will have to continue without me from here on.

May your inquiries bring you pleasure, and further your understanding.

A rational person has to ask from whence your irrationality stems.”

Does someone from DU, or the Onion pay you to soldier on on this thread?

I doubt it. If they were going to pay someone to post on this thread, I expect they'd invest their money in the one promoting pedophile rape, not the one providing the most compelling arguments against it.

I only read the excerpts you selected. But based on those excerpts, what you wrote is quite insightful and seems a concise way to sum up the dangers of those who favor liberty at all costs, even over duty.
