GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

He Already Knows
August 2, 2010

A friend who is a commercial pilot told me about a flight in which he encountered a serious mechanical issue—a problem with dangerous implications. When the situation occurred, the warning lights in the cockpit informed him of the problem and he monitored it all the way to the destination, ultimately landing safely.

Once on the ground, the pilot immediately went to the maintenance staff and reported it. To his surprise, the mechanics responded, “We already know about the problem and are ready to fix it. When you got the cockpit warning, we automatically got an electronic warning as well.”

As he shared that incident, I couldn’t help but compare it to Jesus’ words about our heavenly Father: “Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him” (Matt. 6:8). He said this in contrast to people who believe that they must “use vain repetitions . . . . For they think that they will be heard for their many words” (v.7). Jesus presupposes God’s knowledge of and concern for His children.

Even though God knows our needs, He still wants us to share our hearts with Him. He stands ready to hear our prayer and to repair our brokenness by His grace.

Although God knows our every need,
His work He wants to share;
He takes us into partnership
By calling us to prayer. —D. De Haan

Prayer is the voice of faith, trusting that God knows and cares.

Read: Matthew 6:5-8

Do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. —Matthew 6:8

Words of encouragement, taking time to listen, a phone call saying’ I love you’. Having an Inviting happy smile, a hug. Mow a neighbors yard. Buy groceries for and elderly neighbor, etc. These cost nothing, yet they are valuable, maybe the most valuable.

Teach a man/boy to fish, how to build a fire, how to to plant a garden, or farm, how to raise chickens, how to cook, how to shop for healthy foods, etc., these are all needed skills. Equip them mentally to have a vision of the future for their self... All taking responsibility for their own life.

We throw money at people that have no skills and think we are doing a good thing, which helps them for the day, or week, or two only. It might make us feel good about our self for a few minutes.

To give them some way to support their self and a family is a MUST. To do less is failure. MO

It gives the government an excuse to ever grow and need more monies's for welfare. Bad plan. MO If they are able bodied, I agree with Paul in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (King James Version) "10.For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."

Need is a great teacher. It gets our attention immediately. We grow, mature and build faith in God by knowing and seeing He watches over us, lives in us and meets our needs through many different avenues. It builds faith. Most of us know by heart the 23 Psalm.
__________________________________________________________
“ Psalm 23
1.The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3.He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
________________________________________________________

It is all there ... promises to meet our needs, His caring and protecting believers, and the life eternal as well.
Praise the LORD!
