George & Laura, November 5, 1977
George & Barbara Bush...
Ronald & Nancy Reagan...
Straight, proud, eyes fixed on a distant purpose, ready to step out energetically. Where, oh where, have we gone wrong?
His parents are fabulously normal. They were neighbors of ours when he was dating and married Amy. Very nice, very down to earth republicans. She said that her mother was probably rolling in her grave that Jim (the son) was marrying into this democrat family.

We’re BBQ-ing and I’m trying to play catch up but please know I’m laughing and weeping and typo-ing having the best time on this thread and I wish I could ping everyone but my memory just sux in 105 degree heat (and ya’ll know it does anyway...lol).

That poor damn Amy. Not really. That whole Carter family was an embarrASSment and remians a national disgrace.

Both of the Nixon girls had classy weddings IMO. And President Nixon looked happy too.
I think Tricia’s wedding in the Rose Garden was elegant and beautiful and from what I have read, exactly what she
wanted.

The Carter pics were the perfect picture of a couple Yugo driving liberals. LOL
Wow, old George was a handsome young man. I don’t care for Barbara’s dress, but I like her veil.
Those government-issue curtains and venetian blinds ... images of my Navy childhood.
Don’t know who this Jay Kelly person is, but Amy is still married to Jim Wentzel.
Wasn't she also the one who said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me"? They even named a color after her, "Alice Blue." Which led to a popular song, "My Sweet Little Alice Blue Gown."
