If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Honestly - I just don’t get this Sword....guess I’ll have to re-read it...
One serious question, Sword...been comparing tablets with iPads. What (if any) immediate changes are on the horizon for the iPad, that you’re aware of?
I don’t think so. This is a mistake Apple will probably drop as people refuse to use it.
Someone gave me a Magic Mouse. Nice as it is, it sucks and I went back to the Logitech G5.
I don’t know why Apple has suck a blind spot for input devices. It’s weird.
Early September: iOS 4 for iPads will debut... including folders for organizing apps and multitasking. Reported printing to Bluetooth aware printers at the system level, rather than through 3rd party apps. I hear there will be more digital still and video cameras that will link to the iPad through Bluetooth (the iPhone already can do this). More Bluetooth linked accessories from third parties. A lot more productivity apps.
I’ll google it...thanks.

How does your magic mouse suck? I like mine. The previous apple mouse sucked hugely.
I don't know. I haven't tried the Magic Mouse. I disliked the Mighty Mouse's scroll ball implementation, but loved the concept. The small ball gets dirty to easily.
I find I miss the gestures I can do on the multi-touch pad on the MacBook Pro when I'm on another notebook... but I haven't yet tried the new Multi-Touch track pad. I think, given my appreciation and missing it when I don't have it, I will like it.
I use a Logitech TrackMan Marble Wheel for my desktop... and just bought a new one because my ten year old one is getting shabby looking.
I am thinking of getting an iPad— so should I wait until September? Will the price be the same? I will want it for productivity.
See the video at link
Once you’ve used the MacBook Pro touchpad, you’ll never want to go back to a normal laptop touchpad. However, for PRECISE control, give me a mouse any day.
It won't matter... the upgrades will be free, because they are in the software.
The apps will cost what they will cost.
I do not foresee a bump in iPad models yet. Nor do I foresee a change in pricing. Apple can sell every iPad they make right now at the current price points and they have many more markets in which to release at these price points.
No editor?
The biggest problem is having to lift both fingers off the mouse to use the right click. It's extremely uncomfortable after a few hours.
Plus, moving from a large, weight-adjustable mouse like the G5, which has 7 programmable control buttons, to the Magic Mouse feels like a huge step backward.
But they're great for short hops with a laptop.
Ya....”Precise” was the concept I left out. (I was too busy getting annoyed with how Apple screwed up posting at FR with the iPhone...OS4 doesn’t handle the Reply text box correctly..lolol)
Thank yuo for posting this. I’ve never owned a Mac but am considering purchasing one for music and video work I’ll be doing next year. So I’m slowly trying to educate myself on a subject I know nothing about, and this is all very helpful.
thanks for the post!
It’s great for that use. I just bought first mac two years ago. No regrets. You will love it.
