I remember seeing Maury very early on in ‘War Games’ playing one of a pair of nerds (”Mr. Potato Head! Mr. Potato Head!”). Though he had minimum film time then, he did have presence that prepared me for his future roles in ‘Dances With Wolves’ and ‘The Nero Wolf Mysteries’.
Maury owned that role opposite Tim Hutton and it saddens me to learn of his passing.
Jack.

“he wanted to play him.”
Hmmmmm, I gotta think about that one.
I don’t know how good an actor Rush might be, if he’s an acting genius of course he could pull it off.
Otherwise I have to say I think Rush is just too mid-western to really play Mr. Wolfe.
To me the great tragedy is that Victor Buono never played him. When I first read the Nero Wolfe books I thought of him immediately, sadly he was already long gone.
Thanks for posting this thread, may this fine man rest in peace. I think I remember him best from that short-lived lawyer show, which was good, but the name eludes me. It had that bald guy in it too.
too lazy to imdb, maybe later!

He was a scary ex-Israeli commando in Entourage. Now what will become of Medellin?
