Didn’t North African muslims favor a Meditteranean galley type of vessel as opposed to the cog/galleon type sailing vessel. Not saying that they couldn’t make the voyage, but exploiting such a discovery requires vessels with large volume and good sea-keeping abilities.

To claim “muslim heritage” is standard muslim procedure. They claim to have been first in Australia (the aborigines had a town called “Mecca”), in Israel (Abraham “wished he was a Muslim”), and Obama claims they have been first in America.
These creatures are a blight that humanity will not survive.

ISLAM is part of the US’s heritage. Islamic terrorists commandeered US civilian ships. Hijackings that is. Acts of piracy. The US projected it’s military might for the first time after becoming a nation to defeat those terrorists. Since that time, Islam has claimed to been at war with the United States. So, yes, heritage. Islam plays a part, a terrorist part. Mr President, before oyu rewrite history, know this: Nobody knows history better than those of us who attended school in the US. You, sir, attended school in a Muslim Madrassa in Indonesia. You know nothing of US history other than was taught my an Imam that seeks to hate and destroy the US. When I was stationed in Jordan in 1975-1977 I frequently visited the RJAF air base at Mafraq, Jordan. One of the waiters in the officr’s club there was from Kenya. He had been sold into slavery by moslems and had been bought by a Saudi. After living in Saudi Arabia for a number of years, he managed to escape to Jordan where slavery was not legally allowed. He said that if the Saudis ever managed to grab him and take him back to Saudi Arabia his owner could legally put him to death.

Of course we could all be wrong, then we'll have to apologize.
I already promised to apologize when anyone produces proof of a muslim, working his entire lifetime in a muslim country, having won a nobel prize in the sciences, medicine or mathematics. Just one.
Of course, I wouldn't want to give the Nobel committees ideas... in the absurd world of today, it may happen just to make muslims "feel better about themselves," as the head of NASA put it...
While the mortality rate for slaves being transported across the Atlantic was as high as 10%, the percentage of slaves dying in transit in the Trans Sahara and East African slave trade was between 80 and 90%!
