Where is all the damn sweetcorn?
I have seen precious little in the market and its like 50c an ear field corn.
Where's the crop?!! I am seriously jonesing

Thanks.
I also shot guns this weekend!
HA!
I also sweat my arse off!!!!!
I'll be the one with the limp!.....
Not when you shoot from the hip!
Yeah. Hey...
the guy is dead nuts sharp...
Do Not get into a gunfight with Him!!!
Plenty of corn at Trader Joe’s today.
The one with the broken toe....he will hit you and it will hurt...
I finally found that stuff deport was talking about and picked up 8 ears.
But there was only about 3 dozen ears in the entire store.
Sorry to here that. The stores I’ve been in have the corn by the cases and people hauling it out by the bag fulls. Maybe their supply didn’t come in like expected.
Mmmm, Sloughhouse corn is easily the best I have had in all my years. We drove up to 49 along the Jackson Hwy. from Carmichael a couple for weeks ago and stopped but they had no corn in yet.
We were soooooo disappointed !
Looking at the fields it was clear that the very cool summer we have had this year has made everything a little late coming in.
Wifey and I are making a run up in 2 weeks. I do hope they have some ripe by then!
Cheers,

North Texas too, sprouts had it for 10/buck big giant ears last week.
nice manicure on the thumb. :-)
Local store had a special of six ears for a dollar.
Those six ears were transformed into corn leek soup and corn pudding.
I have never had corn pudding before, but I highly recommend it!
(Recipe from memory)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
2 cups fresh corn kernels
2 cups milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 large eggs
In a 9” x 13” baking dish, melt the butter in the oven. Let it cool slightly. Make sure butter coats the dish well. Pour excess into separate container to add to batter.
Beat eggs, add milk, corn, flour, salt, sugar, and pepper. Beat in butter. Pour into prepared baking dish.
Bake about one hour or until golden brown and set in the middle.
About 10 servings, 200 calories per serving.
Very good reheated, probably would do well as a breakfast food with syrup.
