Business Week ^ | 7/24/2010 | Damian Joseph

Considering how many new cars are rolled out every year, it's no surprise that a few might be just plain homely. There's a chance that certain styles might become fashionable with a dash of retro hip. (Well, maybe not from the 1970s.)

Not ugly IMO, we're talking 1968 apparently

I didn’t see the Chevy Corvair on the list. Ug-Leeee and junk besides.

In my youth, there were several cars on that list we would’ve given our left nut to own. Bricklin, DeLorean...an Enzo is ugly? Th compiler of this list is a pole smoker of the first order. He must’ve cringed when putting his own Prius on there.

It is a Studebaker Champion (I think). There was a Commander that looks similar. It is smiling because it is happy.

The Corvair is beautiful and Ralph Nadar was the Rachel Carson of cars.

Thank You.

I love cars, and never have I been so uninspired to buy a car than in the last 10 years or so.

So so so so boring. Soul-less bubble cars.

“Take the Ferrari logos off, park it on the street and most peoples’ first reaction would be “fiberglass kit car.” “

Having seen a couple of Enzos up close I’d say you’d have to be near blind to confuse them with kit cars. You might think they are jet fighters minus the wings, but there is no kit car that looks like one of those machines.

1980 Plymouth Champ... What a lunk after 50k mi.

I well remember the junk eco-buckets that Detroit was building in that era. I'm surprised your brother's went that far.

I couldn’t agree more. Some of the selections on this guys list are suspect. I would rather drive an economy car of the past with styling like the Corvair or Valiant than today’s
Corolla or Focus which are dull.

Any list without the “Smart Car” is worthless.

The Corvairs I am familiar with were junk. Oil leaks and the generator bracket had a tendency to break off. I've seen several that had the engine mounting bolts shear off and let the engine drop to the ground.
A neighbors new ‘65 had engines seals go bad over and over again until the dealer told him not to bring it back warranty or no.
The Corvair engine was just a low quality copy of the VW.

A neighbor of mine still drives his Valiant every day. Slant Six engine, absolutely bulletproof.

My hair dresser drives a car like that. Did I mention he is gay?

If your hairdresser drives a car like that, I'm thinking that you pay way, WAY too much for a haircut. Also, mentioning that your hairdresser is gay is kind of like mentioning that water is wet.

“I happen to own an ‘08 PT Cruiser, so to the authors of this purely subjective critique, “Do the letters ‘F.O.’ mean anything to ya?”

Nothing wrong with a PT Cruiser. It’s a chic car though

Prowler

Big problem with the Prowler was a weak V6
