Mostly pictures.
Go easy on ‘em.
Clearly, they were just stockpiling all that stuff because they figured they’d need it WTSHTF. You know, like the Mormons and survivalists and all.
I bet they got started saving for the Y2K catastrophe, and just never stopped...
All kidding aside, the hoarder mental state is fascinating.
Lord, I earnestly pray that I may never suffer from it. Amen.
Hoarder? He just had a few extra items....
Items, too numerous to mention.
Spray yourself for mosquitoes. LOL I’d be afraid of spiders and who knows what else. That pool EEWWWWWWW.
I would LOVE to see pictures of the hoarders themselves!
Poor thing couldn’t find the computer in all that mess to sell stuff on eBay. Meanwhile, this gives me the urge to purge...wanting to hold a garage sale post haste.
I want to know what was in the fridge!!
They need to cordon off the black water pool. Anyone falling in there wouldn't be found for a decade.
PING
Many folks have at least a hint of taste.
Evidently this fellow started out with 1% or less and went downhill from there.
What an amazing collection of really trashy stuff.
Uhh, I’ll pass on knowing what was in the fridge.
Well, he’s got an accordian and a Reagan sticker on his toolbox, so he’s got that going for him.
What a pile.
Unreal.
I’m not sure hoarders is quite accurate. On those shows those deranged folks seem to save “EVERYTHING” - with lots and lots of paper stack up all over the place.
This place looks like some collector that didn’t know when to stop. But most of it is half-way in order. I wonder if those two guys from that TV show “American Pickers” might have hopped on a flight for this?
It looked like some worthwhile finds was among a lot of that junk. It is a bit sad to think that all of the “treasures” to someone are now mainly junk. Especially the house, which will probably get dozed for some University parking lot.
Somebody call the American Pickers!...
WOW!!! I am so sad I missed this sale, lots of treasure there.
Apparently, Luke Skywalker lived there.
Actually, the real guy that lived there was Paul James Harsfai. Lived to be 110 yrs old.
Wow.
I halfway expected to see ‘Rosebud” in all that stuff.
Fun
Amazing pics — fun to look through.
I know this house, and I’m sure he picked up most of his toys down the street in the Village. There used to be a wonderful old toy store a couple of blocks down before the Village became upscale.
I agree with the earlier posters that he wasn’t a hoarder, just a collector who got out of control!
110 years old? Wow! No wonder his pool was rank — It probably hasn’t been maintained in years.
