AKRON, Ohio - Real life beat Hollywood to the finish line at the 73rd Annual All-American Soap Box Derby on Saturday.
With actor-director Corbin Bernsen filming the movie "Hill 25," based on the Soap Box Derby, 14-year-old Sean Brown rolled to victory in the Rally Super Stock Division in a way that no script writer ever imagined. He won in the car that had been driven by his late sister Carol Anne. She was 18 when she committed suicide last year on Easter Sunday.

WOW! (Who needs Hollywood?) Thanks for posting, Bad~Rodeo. Quite the reality.
Being successful in “wholesome” endeavors like the Soap Box Derby does not mean a young person does not have terrible “demons”. Suicide at 18...the ultimate in short term thinking...how sad.
I always thought that part of the rules stated that the kid driving had to build the car.
I mean we all know that kids cannot really build these cars, but they are supposed to help ,arent they?
Too bad his sister commited suicide at 18 her life was ahead of her, too many kids sweat the small stuff.
That's what I thought but I didn't want to get flamed for trying to get the whole family to take the gas pipe.
My Brother got the Bay Line Railroad to sponsor his soap box derby car. He would go down after school each day and work on it.
When it was ready it looked like it had been made by Ferrari. No way my brother did most of the work on that one. He won his first two races then lost out on the third.
great picture Sniper
I won a baseball mitt.
That’s really cool, thanks for sharing
Very nice!
You're welcome, this one was a no-brainer
