The women of the 1960s and their 'period bodies' with normal proportions are rare today, and something to be envied.
The fourth season of "Mad Men" starts Sunday, and with it another round of opportunities to both marvel and gasp at how much things have changed since the early 1960s. Much of the genius of the show, of course, lies in its ferocious attention to period details. From the entrenched womanizing and nonstop drinking and smoking (even while pregnant!) to children who play with plastic dry-cleaning bags

We need local control of curricula in the schools, that is for sure, and no lobby groups like CAIR who have input into our textbooks. Jimmy Carter finished off the public school system with his creation of the Department of Education.
We have to cleanse the curricula of all the progressive stuff from Charles Beard to Carl Becker.
Taft was right when he said their progressive interpretation of history diminished the Constitution and the Founding Fathers. Even though, their destructive ideas, along with other progressives like Dewey, were inserted into the curricula and into the minds of our children to create non-logical obama voters.
True, they have no idea that they have been lied to for their whole childhood....It is what the KGB defector in the 70’s said....the infiltration into all media, the schools, etc., and children and people can not see the truth when it is staring them in the eyes, because of all of the disinformation they have been force-fed.
It’s a shame... but maybe this radical fascist group in the white house will wake people up. There have been some who have seen the light but hopefully, it won’t be too late.
So, I went for a couple consults. I was in my early 30s. The doc starts talking about the size you'd need in your 30s and then in your 40's you'd need to come back in and get a lift and then in your 50's you'll want a smaller, more athletic (his word) look so you'll have to come back in and get them replaced. He didn't go beyond that 50s.
At that point, I was thinking, "are you frikking kidding me?"...Though I stil get jealous when I see a really nicely done set of cleavage.

If Granny would wear a proper suit you wouldn’t have to see her bizness like that.
OMG!
...and I just ate lunch...
With all the beauties there has to be at least one beast. Sorry!
I was looking for last night’s episode (#2) and it’s not posted on AMC. Will it eventually be posted on their web site?
What a great recap!
I was in advertising in Chicago in the 60’s. This is pretty much the way it was.
Yes “we” did.
Grew up in the post WWII years, was a college student in NYC in the 60’s, so I am prejudiced to like this era, but in nearly all ways the culture was far healthier then than now. Even racial relations were improving rapidly, most folks coming to accept the idea of judging people as individuals. Things are now going downhill so rapidly that it is hard to recognize society anymore.
I was a college student in the 60’s as well and had my first introduction to Blacks and Jews, having had neither of these groups in my small town. There was no racial discrimination at all in those days that I could see. I have all but signed off on society of the new millenium. Yet I see a number in my immediate circle who are getting the gist of individual acceptance. And for that I am thankful.
Saturday Night Live had the same idea;
Usually AMC only posts one new episode at the beginning of a season as a teaser. They haven’t posted episodes regularly on their site or on Hulu.
Great green dress. Sad that women wear dresses anymore.
