I also hate firworks in the neighborhood, I just get nervous that some house will go up in flames, or a kid gets hurt or in our area a brush fire starts.
Usually if the law is NO fireworks, there is a reason for it.
The “reason” for the law to prohibit fireworks is the same as the drinking age or the speed limit. It’s a legal line, but enforcement is expected to be circumstantial.
Some 13 year olds shotting bottle rockets at each other is different from a responsible adult with adequate property and who takes precautions.
Both are completely illegal in many states, but the former is much more likely to generate police action.
That is not my experience. I've lived in rural areas where there is zero chance of mishap involving property or livestock, and firecrackers were illegal.
