In Afghanistan, in the midst of war, many animals are lost and separated from their family. Many are found later by troops from the US, UK and Canada. Soldiers rescue these animals and get help from rescue groups that help them send these animals out of the country and to a forever loving home that they deserve.

I believe you. I know it happens in the U.S., but I know in my gut that there are some horrible things going on with animals in a lot of the world. I can’t remember who it was, but someone told me that they once saw a dog in Mexico—they said it was the most pitiful sight they had ever seen.

I love these pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Well I’ve got a buff tabby—not a true orange. So far, I’ve always had pretty good luck with the buff tabbies.

I’ve had cats, mostly calicos and torties all my long life. All have been female. I’ve had one male orange tabby in all that time, and he was just about the best, bravest, dumbest, most wonderful cat of all. When the kids all went off to college, they wanted to take Teddy with him. He was such a memorable cat! But don’t tell my present Pansy the 13th, tux tortie, or Daisy the 3rd, calico. Attitude, doncha know.
