And in other news, the United States government has issued a mandate that identifies the maximum amount of cash any person can legally carry, and reminds Americans that should a Big Mac be detected on someone's breath, they'll be facing a $250 fine.

'You can enjoy whatever you want in the comfort of your own home, but the rest of us shouldn't have to suffer from second hand Big Mac breath. No longer will we let these abusers of their bodies inflict their transfatified evil upon the rest of us.'

I got a better idea, how about we just pull aside all the Muslim looking guys in the line to board the airplane and check them out?

And if they record the data, now we will know who farted. End of the one-cheek-sneak and the silent-but-deadly. Brilliant!

What a clever way to smell things. Of course if there is nothing to smell, nothing will be detected.

It still will not detect explosives smuggled in body cavities, so all y'all anticipating the full search just line up in the room next door.

In short, the really determined will get past this, and those who will not be screened because we don't want any profiling going on are the most likely to get through.

I think I'll drive...

Broadband terahertz wave remote sensing using coherent manipulation of fluorescence from asymmetrically ionized gases

The presser said 20 meters. The abstract says only 10 meters. That's way too close for the comfort of humans, but mounted on a remotely operated vehicle might work for IEDs.

This post's title has been in the back of my head for months.
