Another apostate cesspool.

If any believers actually are in the PCUSA, you have been in denial so far. Leave now - there is NO reason to stay.

Thank you. Tell it our FRiend who claims “America is a Christian nation.”

In Acts, it was disciples who were called “Christians”. And what is a disciple, but a student, a learner, a devotee.

While Christians are studying, learning, devoting themselves to imitating their Master, many so-called “Christians” in America are either sodomizing one another or voting on how loudly to applaud.

(This comes as no surprise, though. Something about “and few there be that find it” springs to mind.)

Pretty amazing. Much better if they would just call themselves something else. Real Christians neither practice same sex acts nor approve of them. Better to be an out and out atheist than a fake believer in God.

Hey, they had no choice in the matter; they were predestined by God to do this, for his greater glory, you know.

I’m ignorant about what Presbyterians believe - are they a predestination group? Meaning whether you’re “saved” or not is already set in stone and there’s nothing you or anyone else can do about it, one way or another?

I also have never know what their name means.

I do know they have jumped into the abyss, though.

If D. James Kennedy were still around, I wonder what he would have to say...

There was a time when the Presbyterians were generally one of the more “conservative” denominations.

This direction seems to be pervasive among religions and denominations. For many Jewish, Christian, and Muslim believers homosexuality is not laudatory. Instead it finds its place among the myriad sins entrapping each person who lives in a fallen world, and struggles with a fallen nature.

For them reasonable scholarship must conclude followers of the desert religions cannot accept homosexual relationships. The Old Testament, holy to “People of the Book”, speaks of the character, identity, and purpose of God in a manner, which continuously addresses the issue of homosexual behavior. He is spoken of as masculine, and all humans become feminine in relation to Him. The scriptures say that in addition to creating all things, God created the single institution of heterosexual marriage. Marriage between a man and woman presents the earthy manifestation of the spiritual relationship He seeks with all human beings. Therefore, pursuing other human sexual relationships becomes a rejection of God.

The Christian faith contains the additional revelation of humans as the Bride of Christ. To restore relationship lost in Eden, God sent Christ to die for all human sins, but people must repent of all their sins. To pursue sexual sin including fornication, adultery, or homosexual behavior is to reject His identity and His character, and therefore repudiate His gift of salvation renewing relationship.

Classical theology emphasizes relationship, and searching for God in the spiritual dimension. Modern revisionism emphasizes godly models found in the scriptures for patterns of actions, which then amalgam with human philosophies. This amalgam allows parishioners to find comfortable surroundings within a fallen physical dimension and never tread upon ground where Job and Moses confronted the living God.

There are huge numbers of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim believers for whom any arguments from the scriptures must move forward from the understanding faith is all about the person of God and not the pattern of god.

Why? There are still churches out there that stick to their Biblical guns and do not compromise the Truth of God’s Word. Just seek them out. But I will tell you this - the most likely to compromise are those that have large “central governing” bodies - as politics plays a bigger game than the leadership of God through the Holy Spirit.

Where did you go? Hopefully you found a faithful church. If not, I invite you to come to the one, holy Catholic and apostolic Church this next Sunday for Mass. Make an appointment with the pastor to get your questions answered. I think you will be amazed at how sensible priests really are!

**. Its sad that you get a kick out of those who have fallen away.**

Actually, in my opinion, all these sects need a lot of prayers.

We switched to a more conservative Methodist Church largely because of the youth program but also because of the growing concern over the leadership of the Presbyterina church. I know the Methodists have their weaknesses too and if we switch again it will probably be to one of the nondenominational churches.

I grew up in the Catholic Church and may find my way back there some day.

The PCUSA ceased to be a true church many years ago when it abandoned the Bible. There are some Presbyterian denominations that hold fast to the faith - the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church in America for example.

We go to an OPC church, and our son-in-law is an OPC pastor. It is so refreshing to hear the word of God preached faithfully every Sabbath!

Can you imagine now a Gay Minister walking to the pulpit with his current sexual partner and seating him in the front row?..... What a slap in the face to God, Christ and any true believers the church manages to salvage from this ruling. In my opinion a true Christian would no longer attend their and go to another church. Otherwise by staying they are supporting and enabling the next group of sexual deviates to march in...pedifiles, cross dressers, and the like...you can be sure that they will be next in line.

So-called “mainline” protestantism seriously broken, and it will not pull out with Divine intervention. God did not intervene for the congregationistic groups that became unitarian who have morphed into wiccan-gaian-deism.

In other words, their light was removed and not restored.

I've always said that homosexuality is no worse a sin than any other; that all sin is repugnant to God. But in a way, homosexuality is much worse. It is an evangelizing sin that seeks converts even among believers. They have essentially destroyed the PC USA denomination.

I think part of this problem is due to members who have homosexual children, relatives and friends. They don't want to see them as unrepentant sinners, and mistakenly feel they can "change the rules" in order for those folks to be saved. Sad. They are just drowning with them now.

It is, and funny story. I was on my way out when I responded to this thread. Did spell check, and then just hit post. Later, lying in bed, almost asleep, this post clicked in my head. I had a flash of my cursor being in the wrong spot on the spell check list.

Of all things to mess up, a Biblical reference! I apologized to Him!!

I recognize, acknowledge and share your anger, sadness and disgust with the mainstream churches. But keep searching and praying for a congregation and eventually, you will be led to one that keeps Christian values. It took me seven years of wandering until finally I learned of a congregation in another county. I dislike driving a considerable distance to go to church, but to hear the right messages it is worth it. Consider the pioneers in this country who had to hitch up the wagons and horses to travel over rutted roads once a month when the circuit-riding preacher was available.
