At the age of thirteen he made his first trip in the Friendship (1761) to Fredericksburg, Virginia; a second voyage there was made in 1762.... ..and people here gripe about that 16 year old girl being allowed to attempt to sail around the world by herself. Maybe we need more young people who are given higher expectations than babied.
