Why hasn't Tipper defended Al Gore?
She could say something about them growing apart but "he's still a good man."
She could say that though they have gone their separate ways he's "still a man of honor."
Instead she is noticeably silent in the face of damning accusations. The media fails to say anything about this.

The resaon is the same for both of these. They want to see the perpetrators hang.
She has already made the decision to divorcing him, so why would she say anything to help him?
The deeper he sinks, the more desperate he gets to end the ordeal quickly, and the more money she may get in his zeal to make his unflattering scandals go away.
Perhaps she simply does not care enough to even make a comment either way. The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference.
She knows he is guilty ,, it wouldn’t surprise me if he used the same phraseology with Tipper.

His cheating doesn’t suddenly make Tipper a person to admire. She has been married to him a long long time and complicit in all of his endeavors.
