BBC has denied this. Apparently this is recycling an old story. Years ago Billie Piper said she hoped there would be no Dr Who movie cause they’d put some Hollywood star like Depp in as the Doctor. Someone recently seems to have run with that.

Kicking David Tennant to the curb! He's been gone for a whole season now. Whats-his-name, the new guy, is not really filling his shoes either. He's the weakest Doctor since Colin Baker.

I could not get half way through that movie, maybe if Tom Baker was in it...

This new make-over made us sick when “Dr. Who” refused to allow those being attacked to use WEAPONS.

Russel Davie's probable choice of costume for a Depp Doctor:
Gee, you'd think R.D. would have gotten kicked to the curb at this point in favor of Tim Burton. Bleah. I miss the old series, even some of the early JNT episodes.

I’m not liking the new guy either. David I liked.
I guess whatever show he left the Doctor for, has been canceled.

Tennant was good at times but the whole “Quake in your boots because I am here, flee before my wrath! I am the last of the timelords, fear me! I am the Doctor!” followed by his enemies running away got tiresome.

I forwarded this over to Harry Knowles at Ain’t It Cool News. They had nothing on it over there, and if ANYONE can confirm/deny this, Harry can.
