Mel Gibson Uses Racial Slur: Report (This is still shocking news to ABC ???)
ABC News ^ | 07/01/2010 | Bob Tourtellotte

Oscar-winning director and actor Mel Gibson, who caused a media storm four years ago over an anti-Semitic statement, is again making headlines for using an apparent racial slur in an argument with his ex-girlfriend.

Celebrity news website Radaronline.com Thursday published excerpts of an audiotape of Gibson telling Oksana Grigorieva, whom "The Passion of the Christ" director is battling in court, that they way she is dressed made her look like a "pig in heat."

"If you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault," Radaronline reported Gibson as shouting at Grigorieva during an argument she taped, apparently using an expression that is deeply insulting to African Americans.

Radaronline, which published the excerpt with the three asterisks, claims to have listened to the tape. A representative for the website was not immediately available for further comment.

A spokesman for Gibson declined to comment due to pending litigation between the actor and his ex-girlfriend, and Gibson's lawyer also was unavailable for comment.

Yep...Gibson is Godly, all right. He’s proven that over and over again.

None of this is Christlike in the least.

We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Except you of course!

Mel Gibson is being attacked because he dared to make a movie about the persecution and crucifixion of Jesus Christ that was faithful to the gospels.

I won't accept the word of some bottom feeder at some scandal mag called RadarOnline. I'll withhold judgment and wait for the tapes to be made public before I criticize the man. Did they ever release the tapes from his drunk driving arrest? No, because they didn't back up the narrative.

Anyone who has seen his movies shouldn’t be surprised that he’s got anger issues.

That works pretty well on-screen. The last thing I want to see is a metro-sexual William Wallace. ;^)

Just curious, there have been many movies made about the life of Christ -- THE KING OF KINGS, THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, JESUS OF NAZARETH among them. Why are people so worked up over the Passion ?

As a fan of “Passion of the Christ” I have to say I am deeply disappointed in Mel. That he would say that ugly word shows a lot about his character.

I still have Bruce Willis and Tom Selleck to look up to.

THE KING OF KINGS, THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, JESUS OF NAZARETH

How many of those films had the editorial boards of most major newspapers writing editorial and opinion pieces libeling the film's director?

How many of those films were blacklisted by the distributors?

How many of those films were made in the last 30 years? The American films are nearly 50 years old.

One has an 80% more of a chance of being raped by a murder of crows than a group of cats. Mel’s observations were correct, whats the fuss about?

“We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Except you of course!”

Just because I don’t view Mel’s continued troubles as persecution for his “Christianity” doesn’t mean I think I am not a sinner. That’s a pretty big leap, there.

I agree that Jeremiah Wright is getting a pass.

Mel doesn’t have to commit adultery, leave his wife and family, get publicly drunk, go off on various people groups, use foul language, and grotesquely insult that mother of his latest child, does he? No matter what Jeremiah Wright has done.

If he hadn’t done the above, there would be nothing to chide him over, would there be?

There are great Christians past and present who have been truly and often hideously persecuted for their faith in Jesus. I would not put Mel Gibson in their company.

I don’t think Mel is the victim of some sort of persecution for his godliness.

He had an affair with a 20- something, and left his apparently faithful wife and several kids for her.

Also, he apparently drinks to excess and hates several different racial/ethnic religious groups.

None of this is Christlike in the least.

Yeeeaah..., I have to go with that.  I've given Mel the benefit of the doubt in the past in assuming that he regretted his "ITS THE JOOS!!!" tirade on the night of his arrest while also pointing out that the .12 BAC he blew didn't remotely approach a level of intoxication to sufficiently explain away such behavior.

But I'm thinking that we need to acknowledge that this man that made a great movie about Christ, beyond being a very flawed human being as we all are, is indeed a very hateful un-Christlike individual.

Better hope they don't make a movie about Jesus Christ.

Specific example please, or were you referring to the Lethal Weapon movies as a complete project. Gibson is about as F-ed up as your average Hollywood big shot. No more, no less. The difference is that he has some personal views that liberals equate with conservativism.

I confess that I have made racially insensitive remarks countless times in my life. I don't think that this makes me a racist.

The real question here is why was this woman taping him, and what purpose did is serve for him to release the tapes. Is he a threat to black people because of it? Is he even a threat to the ex-wife from what you've seen? Doubtful.

I have two friends who are psychiatrists (both are Jewish incidently) and both are conviced that Gibson suffers from untreated Type I Bi-Polar mania. Gibson has even suspected that he was Bi-Polar in interviews. He has been treating the mania with alcohol most of his adult life, but left medically untreated it is going to continue to get worse unless he gets medication. Every time people who have Bi-Polar have these type of manic episodes, they liteally fry brain cells, until they eventually reach a stage that is a lot like alzheimer's. Sometimes at an early are. Obviously they alcohol doesn't help with that, and it doesn't really adress the processes in the brain. It just slows them down and confuses them.

Incidently, racist remarks are a common syptom of mania and hypomania. Gibson has had far too many people in his life who were black, Jewish, or otherwise to assume he "hates" any racial groups.

racist remarks are a symptom of mania and hypomania...

Well, that explains my dementia since Obama has been President. Van Jones, Eric Holder, Sotomayor, Kagan and Obama have been the recipients of some of my epithet filled tirades of late.

You mean he behaves like most of Hollywood? But they make a point of his sins and not theirs. Hmmmmmm.

Yes, Obama’s legacy will be that the N-word is back and new terms like Halfrican are part of our vocabulary.

“Celebrity news website Radaronline.com Thursday published excerpts of an audiotape of Gibson telling Oksana Grigorieva, whom “The Passion of the Christ” director is battling in court, that they way she is dressed made her look like a “pig in heat.””
.
“Gibson, a staunch Catholic, made headlines worldwide in 2006 for a drunk driving arrest in Malibu during which he launched into an anti-Semitic tirade that shocked Hollywood.”
.
Well, I don’t countenance anything Gibson might have done that he is reported to have done here, but you do have to wonder when these two details of Gibson’s career and personal life are invariably included in any news report of his bad behavior. He’s made scads of movies, but they mention only TPOTC. His being “a staunch Catholic” has nothing directly to do with this incident, but they felt it important to point it out (how often do they mention the religion of other celebrity bad boy/girl in these kinds of stories?).
.
Maybe it’s just me, but it does sound like some unusual subtle editorializing to take irrelevant digs at Gibson, his religiously inspiring movie and his Catholicism.

They make a point of his sins because of the hypocrisy.

The other louts are claiming to be Christians.
