The owner picked the dog up Saturday evening. Marissa cried ... so being an old softie, I told her that after vacation we would look for a new puppy. We will check out small dogs this time. I don’t know what kind yet; Marissa asked about a beagle.

I will need to do some research; it has been many years since we had a small house type dog. I do know that it will be a short-hair.

Sure hope it doesn’t take as much time to get her out as it did to get her in. LOL

My suggestion only ,is perhaps a Yorkie-poo! Purebred dog's seem to have more medical problems, from my experience, rather than mix breeds. Yorkie-poo's are smart and they don't shed and are very loving!

How did the owner find you all? I hope they had a nice home for the dog! Did they act thrilled to find her? In the long run, I guess its wonderful, although I feel bad for Marissa. Children tend to take things hard. She had loved it very much during that short time. Kids get attached fast!

Hope she can find a cute little dog just for her to love!

The owner went into the local minimart and saw our flier. She asked where we lived so she just came to the house.

The dog was happy to see her but he was just as happy to see Marissa. The owner said he was a housedog. They let him out to do his nightly business while they made a fast trip to the minimart. When they came home, he was gone.

We took good care of him while he was here. He was not fond of dry dog food so I fed him some left over lasagne ... he loved it. And he got lots of love and attention from Marissa. :)

I asked Marissa how she would have felt if Millie or Max got lost and we were not able to find them. She understood but she still hurt.

I’m sure we will find a nice puppy. I think we will check the SPCA first to see what they have available.
