SO aggravating.
How Bad is the Economy?
The economy is so bad that.
. I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.
. I ordered a burger at McDonald’s and the kid behind the counter asked,
“Can you afford fries with that?”
. CEO’s are now playing miniature golf..
. Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.
. My ATM gave me an IOU!
. A stripper was killed when her audience threw rolls of pennies while she danced.
. I saw a Mormon polygamist with only one wife.
. I bought a toaster oven and my free gift with purchase was a bank.
. If the bank returns your check marked “Insufficient Funds,” you call them and ask if they meant you or them.
. McDonald’s is selling the 1/4 ouncer.
. Angelina Jolie adopted a child from America.
. Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children’s names.
. A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico .
. Motel Six won’t leave the light on anymore.
. A picture is now only worth 200 words.
. They renamed Wall Street “Wal-Mart Street .”
. When Bill and Hillary travel together, they now have to share a room.
. The Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas is now managed by Somali pirates.
. Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal. Oh Great! The guy who made $50 Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 trillion disappear!
And, finally...
. I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck...
I was excited about going to the baseball park to watch the Detroit Tigers play the Chicago White Sox. I proudly put on my Tigers T-shirt that morning before going to the opposing teams stadium. But I had to wear a sweatshirt over my teams shirt because it was cool outside. So I was disappointed that no one at U.S. Cellular Field could see which team I was there to cheer for. No one knew I was a Tigers fan. After a 3-hour rain delay, the game finally started and I could cheer for my team and get my loyalty out in the open.
The apostle Paul had a loyalty that was most definitely out in the opena loyalty to Jesus Christ. He wrote to the believers in Rome, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ (Rom. 1:16). He knew that the gospel was the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes because Jesus had dramatically changed his life and its direction. In his preaching and witnessing, he proclaimed Jesus, the One to whom he had given his whole life (Acts 9).
The believers in Rome were also known for their allegiance to Christ. Paul said of them: Your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world (Rom. 1:8).
Is your loyalty to Jesus out in the open?
I like all those Dub!
On Surviving
Its about never laying down
never giving in no matter the pain
Its about striving ever onward
through the chill of the driving rain
Its the stubborn streak flaring
as you straighten up, lift your load higher
Its about efforts you put out
seeking the high ground where its drier
Its taking strength at last
from One who reigns holds you dear
Its about the real courage
to admit and accept Him amid your fears

I love that sweet, lazy day opening, ladies! Summer is wonderful and the poem describes it perfectly! Thanks as always!! I’m leaving for my hair appointment now! See you later!
Very lovely roses and Psalm, M.L.!!
I wish I could report “yes” but its still messed up. Earlier today when I went to tinypic to get a graphic, it wouldn’t open anything for me and then froze!
Do not know why it let me get a graphic an hour later. Go figure! Leaving for my appointment now and I may get back if the computer runs and same for me....LOL!
I may get a frosty today for Thirsty Thursday! And maybe a hamburger!!
It’s another very hot day here in Memphis, and a cold glass of ice tea is in order.
