Hmmmm ... how can I say this and still be politically correct?
As she is getting older, she needs to get in a school where she in not in the minority. It is very discouraging to work your hind-end off for field trips for the students and the other parents won’t even come to a PTA meeting. The new school has a better ranking and ethnic mix but it is not great. I would really like to move out of California. This is not a good time to sell our property or for Jr to quit his job so he could move also. He is important in Marissa’s life even tho she only sees him on weekends.
I went by the school twice today to submit the transfer request. First time, someone that was leaving for the day told me that the new principal should be there at 12:00. I went again about 1:15. He was there but no one seemed to know where he was. I asked the janitor to let me in the office. I left the request form in his inbox.
It is my understanding that they are a PI (??) school so they have to grant my request. I’ve talked to the new school and they told me there should be no problems with them accepting her. I’m hoping to get this taken care of before we go on vacation.
