I guess this will replace the US OT loss to Ghana on the sports pages.

Getting beat 4-1 in soccer is just as bad as an American football team getting beat 28-7. But we in the good ole' USA are not quite this barbaric.
At least not in playoffs. :)

The UK Feckenham Ladies Rugby team was trounced by the German Tuntenhausen Bloomenbergensteinenthal Ladies by a score of 5 to nil whereupon afterward they all joined hands and popped of to the local pub for beer and Elderflower Cordial teas ....
However the UK team defeated by Germany had a different view of their opponents and fans .....

Shocking defeat? From what I understand Germany was favored over England. Although that was a bad call on that “2nd goal”.

IIRC, years ago a Brit commenter stated before a UK-W. German World Cup match, “If tomorrow Germany defeats us in our national game, remember that we have twice in this century defeated them at theirs.”

That German is out of his mind to get involved in the middle of a London street like that and put his life in jeopardy. When you win, you shouldn't do anything to rouse up the losers, especially when you are all by yourself surrounded by their fans. What a knucklehead!!! I would bet that alcohol had a lot to do with the whole incident.
BTW, England was robbed out of a goal by bad officiating. But I'd presume that the final outcome would have and should have been 4-2 in favor of the Germans. Do you think there would have been less of incident if that were the official result?

Hey Pommies, still gung ho about putting down the "unprepared" Yanks?
Every World Cup we get the Poms telling us how they will get to the finals and every year their sorry as-es underperform. As a friend of mine pointed out, the English are the Cleveland Caveliers of international Football.
