Am I missing something here? What exactly about her situation entitled her NOT to wait in line with the other customers? Had she checked with them all and confirmed that they were in the “not in a hurry” line before she tried to duck out the side exit?

Costco and Sam’s Club both have those reciept checking policies, and she must have known this before she stepped a toe in Costco that day.

Did I miss the part where she couldn’t wait in line with the other customers becuase she was rushing out to the parking lot to give CPR to the endearing old grandpa while she helped the labrador retriever deliver all those cute lil’ puppies?

Yikes. Get over yourself and wait in the line. If you’re that pushed for time don’t stop at Costco that day.

If she was in a hurry and didn’t want to wait in the check out line, would it be ok for her to throw her money on the floor and walk out with the product?

There should be a Zero Tolerance Policy for this type of employee behavior

Perhaps the employee had no way of knowing just how special you were or that your time was more valuable than others.

It is my observation that these type of fights always seem to be between two women.

When you purchase something at a store, and have a receipt for it, there is no legal requirement that you stand in some line to to wait show that receipt to another employee. Ir there is a legitimate exit (not an emergency exit), and you choose to use it I believe that is your right. If Costco is so incompetent, that people are asked to wait in line to leave, after a legitimate purchase, they are totally in the wrong.
