"In the spirit of the Fourth of July, weve put together some posters with a few of our favorite quotes from our Gov (1.0) heroes. They helped define the very principles we want our fellows to realize through Gov 2.0 democracy, participation, and patriotism so they couldnt be more relevant now. Check out all six below; each links to a printable (and text-selectable) pdf. Share, print, and post them to spread the word, and help others see how were all coders, old and new speaking the same language."
Quotes in binary from Kennedy, FDR, Susan B. Antony, Adama, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
Thought this might be of interest to the resident geeks of FR.
Since I have NO clue how to do this...let me present my own code to you.

Ahhhh, thanx Brad’s Gramma!
Back atcha, dear!

BTW....as slow as this connection is....and with it being Saturday and all...and my putting up the Chaplain thread soon...if FR goes down AGAIN on a Saturday, I’m taking it PERSONALLY.
Not JR’s fault. It’ll be “Big ears” fault.
There. I’ve had my say.

More to the point, I believe the quotes are in binary ASCII Code. For example, here is the first part of the Madison quote decoded:
01010111 = W
01100101 = e
00100000 = [space]
01110100 = t
01101000 = h
01100101 = e
00100000 = [space]
01010000 = P
01100101 = e
01101111 = o
01110000 = p
01101100 = l
01100101 = e
Wouldn’t EBCDIC be more likely in use in the 18th century?

01000111 01101111 01100100 00100000 01000010 01101100 01100101 01110011 01110011 00100000 01000001 01101101 01100101 01110010 01101001 01100011 01100001
I'd say Baudot Code would be more likely than EBCDIC.
Who came up with this crap?!
It still blows my mind. 0,1, etc.
Oh, and thank you for this explanation. I actually understood it. Not why 8=the 1,000th place but I managed to understand the added up numbers. That’s more than I got out of the Computer 101 in college, which I dropped after the first day.
