Injury/Stoppage time. Referee’s discretion.

I don’t think that Shirely Temple’s husband, whom I think is named Charlie Black, is actually black. He used to be a high-powered DC lobbyist during the 1970s and 1980s...

About 2 to 3 minutes in regulation time left?
This is up to the referee to deside.
In theory he can let them play as long as he want ;-)
To: Brytani
Ref stops his watch when ball is ‘dead’ during substitutions, injuries, etc. He adds that to the end of each half. Only he know the amount to be given.

So technically they don’t go into overtime until regular game time is completed and that amount is determined by a ref?

Confusing. Does a team win if ahead after the first additional 15 minutes, or do they always play two additional 15 minute periods?
No. What you mean is a "silver goal", which is a variant they tried after the golden goal didn't work as expected.

It's not used anymore.

Ok, now that makes sense.
So if some player decides to waste time by playing hurt (as happens in football) it doesn’t effect gameplay because the Ref can always add that time back at the end.
Sounds reasonable to me.

90 minutes of regular playing time (2x 45 minutes).
Plus usually 1-5 minutes of injury time, determined by the refs, but usually it's just the time that ticked away when there were injuries on the field during regular game time.
In a round-robin or league game, that's it. In a play-off, if there's a tie after 90+x minutes, you go into extra time.
Extra time: Two halves of 15 minutes each with a break in between, i.e. 30 minutes total.
After that, if there's still a tie: Penalties.

The only thing about this that bugs me is when a ref urges players to speed up at the end if they appear to be wasting time. Sometimes they will give a player a yellow card if they are obviously wasting time.
What bugs me is that the ref should be willing to call the same thing at the beginning of the game if he's going to call it at the end of the game. I understand the suspense at the end for a come-from-behind tie or win that is being blocked by delaying tactics, but the teams (if they are really good) shouldn't be in the position of relying on the last minute goal to win.

Silvie, her husband isn’t THAT Charlie Black. The DC lobbyist is a good bit younger and still quite alive. Shirley’s husband died a few years ago.
