US is a good team, but still a bit shaky. Besides, it seems to be an object of refs’ obsession.
I think they will win against Ghana.
should beat Ghana and after that it is the winners of Uruguay or Korea which should be a good easier game for USA.
Usa have had goals disallowed but also been lucky, got the easier road to the final, English goalkeeper screwed us and gave a gift, player could have been red carded.
Not taking anything away though as USA has been great and giving all unlike the French.
Anyway this is like world war two over again
The French have quit , The English are fighting alone against the Germans and the Americans come in later to the game, course not forgetting the italians have gone home in disarray too
Maybe in years past but they sucked this WC. And leading up to this WC were not much better. France got in via a hand ball and should have been watching this from their chateaus while Ireland played.
The two best teams right now are Argentina and Spain IMO. Can never discount Brasil and Germany though. Uruguay is my dark horse.
ah you beat me but mine is a slightly different.
I had the English stand alone against her Germans, the Americans come in late, The Italians are in disarray and the French have quit early
At least if we make it to the semis and lose, we still get to play in the 'Third Place' Game.
With Tim Howard, I think that will give us a big advantage should it go to penalties.
uruguay look great as does Paraguay.
Europeans have come off a long long hard season and many of them are tired. so an advantage is given to the South Americans as their season starts after this
totally agree.
I’ve seen him play at united and then Everton, he can be world class but sometimes prone to errors but thus far he has played great and can keep USA all the way to the semi’s most certainly
>>It looks like theyve purposely set up some rivalries
How? Group membership was randomly drawn and winners/2nd place of certain groups were always slated to play winner/2nd place of another group (Group A-B, C-D, E-F, G-H), and each side of the bracket is balanced (Group A winner could only play Group A runner-up in the final).
It is fairly random, it just worked out that way this year.
We had a goal unfairly disallowed that cost us a game. I’d say that’s pretty bad. Instead of being comfortable of getting out of group before our last game, we went from going home to advancing in the 91st minute.
Admittedly, it made for one hell of a tense game.
The thing is, Germany would have been much better off had they finished second in their group.
agreed it’s been a hell of a ride thus far
I went back and watched the Algeria game, if we had any kind of decent finishers, that game should have ended 4-0.
Now if only Everton could get Donovan back, they’d be ‘America’s Team’. ;)
watching Germany and England will be a great game and like a war
the rivalry between them both is huge and I hope security is good for the fans too as they both hate each other a LOT
I think that is my frustration with Team USA. We really should never have been in that situation, either because of a ref’s blown call, or leaving it to injury time.
Still, that is encouraging if we CAN bury those chances.
we have the easiest road to the semis so if anytime was the time to make it that far its now! winning the semis or final is a whole other ballgame as we will be facing Netherlands or Brazil in the semis, or anyone of Germany, England, Argentina, Spain in the finals.

surprised he left there.
I’ve had a lot of folks coming up to me asking about the game and see the game becoming bigger here.
one question yesterday was do players get points for those yellow cards,
I do think some should get points for the diving and time wasting though
apologies for the double post
