PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A Boy Scouts chapter in Philadelphia may have ousted just one gay scout in the decade since the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the organization's right to ban gays, but that doesn't mean untold others haven't been shut out, a city lawyer told jurors Tuesday......

adult members- not boys.
different rules.
actually, men can join GS and can lead Girl Scout troops (men only can join GS, boys under age 18 can not be Girl Scouts)
But male GS leaders must have a female co-leader, not related.
And women can be members of Boy Scouts, and can lead Boy Scout troops, many do lead Cub Scout dens...don’t know if they have had any “cougars” take advantage of the boys
I don’t know what point you are trying to make but that picture made me laugh.
After the Dale decision the Boy Scouts released a statement saying, correctly, that the decision gave them the right to set leadership AND membership standards. If you honestly believe the Scouts don't have a problem with homosexuals as members then I'd like to see where they state that.
Perhaps they should ask the taxpayers about that. Homosexuality is neither a race, a religion nor a creed and has no special constitutional protections.
Want to feel better ?
Look into how the city came to own the building. it was donated by the Boy Scouts.
It’s their building.
It is good to laugh
Apparently they do under the city's anti-discrimination laws.
Maybe they could work a trade. They could donate a copy of their policy to the church and get one of their many now-empty buildings to use for office space in return.
Response: Good!
That's just part of it. Scouts themselves are prohibited from being homosexual. When you think that Scouts can be members up to 18 years of age, you can see the problems with these "adult" Scouts going camping with pubescent boys in remote areas.
Morally straight means morally straight. Homosexual activists have no morals when it comes to sexuality.
I hope the plaintiffs (Scouts) are not resting their case on the magnitude of the impact on “gay” scout wannabes, which is completely irrelevant. Even if thousands of openly homosexual boys and adults have been turned away, this shouldn’t have one scintilla of relevancy to the case.
The city is discriminating against the scouts in their right of assembly, and the lease is hardly free if the scouts are paying 60-70k per year for buidling maintenance while providing a service to the community. The young man who outed himself apparently prefers to cost the Scouts unnecessary expenditure in order to further his agenda.
Not really, no. The Scouts are free to exclude whomever they want from membership and leadership. The Supreme Court was clear on that. As for the maintenance, it's their building so they should be expected to maintain it. But it's the city's land. And there in lies the rub.
The young man who outed himself apparently prefers to cost the Scouts unnecessary expenditure in order to further his agenda.
I don't know if this is a case of someone outing themselves or a general opposition to the Boy Scout policy and the claim it violates the city's non-discrimination ordinance.
” But they can stop you from doing that in a building built on city property without paying rent. “
Built by the scouts, donated to the city by the scouts, maintained by the scouts, and with a permanent right to use granted to the scouts by the deed to the city from the scouts.

The BSA built the building in 1928 and donated it to the city. They have taken care of it ever since.
But without title to the land it was built on. Don't forget that part.
