The Coming Depression...Not the Economy
madison10 | June 19, 2010 | madison10

Posted on 06/19/2010 7:17:00 PM PDT by madison10

It's finally getting to me, this change in my country. Life is just not how it used to be and will never be that way again. There have been other life changes--my husband's more-or-less forced retirement, October 2008 at a job that is in the finance industry with the subsequent cutback in hours, and that wonderful time in a woman's life when everything sort of sags and stops.

Worst of all is the breakneck speed at which the norms, traditions, and the Constitution have been shoved aside for some young, upstart, radical Communist's agenda, czars, and that d*&*ED executive order pen. That is depressing because there seems to be no way to change the headlong plunge or even slow it down. November 2010? HAH! As if they'll let a real election occur. Most of those-called "Republicans" in Congress aren't helping either. Where are the real, USA-loving, Law-abiding MEN? Where are their principles?

I want things to go back to the way they were, but that's not going to happen---that is majorly depressing. Freddie, Fannie and their puppeteers ruined that scenario, not only for the U.S., but for the planet. Hope they are proud of themselves...

Okay, that's it, needed to rant. Thanks.

Those men are all in nursing homes awaiting their turn to see the light and their long ago dearly departed. We’re on our own now.

I’ve never seen or read such a bunch of pathetic defeatist rhetoric on FR. Why do any of you bother posting if all you are going to do is wallow in your self pity? Why bother being freepers? Have you not read about the growing numbers throughout the country opposing amnesty for illegals and more states crating their own stricter immigration laws? Have you forgotten that we outnumber them? Why are all of you so willing to capitulate to the minority? Have you seen the growing grassroots tea party movement in February 2009? When did you decide to crawl under a rock and let the socialists walk all over you?

You can’t see the forest for the trees. If the history of the socialists advance has taught any of anything it is that we need to steal a page out of the socialist playbook by pushing forth with the same dogged determination to advance the Conservative cause and view any setback as temporary! You only empower those who seek to destroy you with your self defeatist attitude. Grow a pair!

Hear hear, sir! I’ve been away from the Freep for two years — only lurking, but this thread drew me back.
I am so sick of this end is nigh attitude I see on the Freep. If it’s over — give up, kill yourself, whatever.

I, and it appears many others as well, are deciding to stand and fight. Whiners don’t deserve liberty. Fighters do.

Get locked and loaded, figuratively and literally, and do our forefathers proud.

They win when we bend over and grab ankle.

Maybe you should open your eyes instead of trying to bury your head like an ostrich.

The hard left is indeed walking all over us. With the help of many on the right, I’m sorry to say.

The “Conservative” cause will not save us. The mainstream “Conservative” cause has only aided in this falling off.

Your beloved GOP is in on all of this. If not, why don’t they fight this BLATANT attack on our way of life?

Where are they? I’ll tell you where they are. They are approaching a microphone right this minute to apologize for speaking out against it.

This is a movement towards a leftist one-world government. They have been fooled into believing there is not other way to “manage” the “over-population” of this planet. Or, they are dreamers and power mongers who want to create one neck for one leash.

Either way, millions/billions will die. They cannot/will not achieve their goals without some kind of holocaust, or war, or famine, or culling.

I’m not depressed, I’m ready to fight. Problem is, most Americans are in denial and aren’t willing to do what is necessary.

Until they rise up there will be no underpinning for the kind of leaders we need to restore our way of life.

I’m not talking about a small group of wannabes, I’m talking about huge numbers of everyday Americans rising up in defiance.

These people know how to manage/perpetuate your denial, and regulate your pain threshold so as to not trigger an uprising. Or, at least they think they know how.

If we wait for the pain to reach an unbearable level, or to reach our homes, it will be too late.

The time to rise up collectively is right now.

We may not get another opportunity. Not without bloodshed, that is.

Okay, there are people here saying that things are bad, and that’s true.
There are also people saying to “buck up, and arm up” and that’s wise.
There’s also some that say that November Elections will be useless.

What *is* the problem with our society that it seems “nobody has a spine”?

I hope you don’t use religion as an excuse to be lazy. People who sit around waiting for god to save them are not an asset to this world or the next.

Lazy would be a sin, wouldn’t it? No - I am the resistance. Though I certainly would expect someone to come along and try to tie Christ-followers to sloth, indifference, or cowardice. It’s the kind of stuff the accuser of the brethren is so good at.

See the Book of James.
Particularly, ch 2 vs 18 —
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

But there is no sense is not admitting to the facts, facts that are hard and indisputable.

What part of this escapes your understanding?

I understand that you need to make a choice. Stand and fight, lay down and die, or leave the country.

Of course, you could always go to work for the Commies. Is that what you're doing? Is that why you're sitting here defending your reprehensible defeatism?

Take a stand. If you believe the absolute crap that you posted, then you need to tell us right now what you're going to do about it.

I don't want to see you happily commenting on other threads about world events, while you're quietly in agreement with the total destruction of everything we love.

No. You'd better man up right this very minute and tell us what you're going to do from this point out, since "all is lost."

You say there is no hope, so I want to know when you're going to either

A) Decide to stand up and die fighting, or
B) Quit this forum and find your deathbed, or
C) Leave the country, or
D) Proudly join the other side.

Choose now, in public, and on the record.

I kinda see James as a bit of a “Church Smackdown Book,” it covers everything from favoritism to “I have faith!” to prayer to [petty] squabbling.

If you are going to fight, when will you start?

I've already started, by joining with my like-minded patriotic neighbors. We've got a local Tea Party group of over 400 people that will not rest until we see our country restored.

That group is affiliated with dozens of others - some of whom are even bigger. The one thing we all have in common is that we will keep putting one foot in front of the other on our march back to freedom, no matter how long the road is.

For now, we're only holding signs. For now...

When it comes to the future of the COUNTRY, when I am inclined to be gloomy, I remember, and rejoice in the fact that there are more guns than Americans, and that a majority of the U.S. military will not kill American civilians, and will fight that part of the military and police who will.

Hear, hear!

“...a majority of the U.S. military will not kill American civilians”

Today? No. Tomorrow? No. But five to ten years from now is anybody’s guess, I’m afraid.

It all depends on what Americans do right now.

You give me a link to a jpeg as an answer?

Screw that. Make your statement here and now.

Own up and take responsibility for what you’ve said here tonight. If all is lost, then tell us what you’re going to do about it.

Take a stand.

No it doesn't. The only important thing is what YOU will do right now.

In the end, all we have is our own personal integrity and honor, which is solely dependent upon what we ourselves choose to do, or not do.

If you're waiting for some sort of group ok for you to make a choice, then you will never understand, nor appreciate real freedom. Neither will you fight for it.

I would disagree with the Stockholm Syndrome theory and simply ascribe the problem to America becoming corrupted from within very similarly to the way ancient Rome did but over a much short time span.

If you study the fall of the ancient Roman Empire you’ll see that we have followed it almost to the ‘T.’ But then again most of the major ancient civilizations were destroyed first from within and then finished off from without.

The West is collapsing with the UK leading the charge but here in America I do see glimmers of hope that are somewhat similar to the way Christianity rose from the ashes of a self-destructing Roman Empire.

There’s no real way to stop the suicidal path the West is on even by electing a new generation of politicians who will eff over the citizenry they supposedly represent. Our politicians are only good as the parents who raise them and parenting in the West is suffering tremendously.

The place to start restoring America and the West is the home. Until that is straightened out we will continue to see the downward spiral of all aspects of our society until our death wish is granted in full. To change the trend people will have to make life-affirming decisions that are not popular with the culture at large. A large enough group of conservative, life-minded individuals can make the difference.
