Here is reaction from Charles Krauthammer to President Obama’s Oval Office Speech where he said the idea that Obama can legislate “glorious green energy” is “absurd.” Krauthammer said we just are not close to replacing petroleum with anything, and the idea Obama can just decree “green energy” is not facing reality.

If we all get green shirts, it'll look like we're doing something. Put a picture of a bird on it....and people will bow to you....

Now, back to work and reality so I can pay for my gas and electric bill.

Hussein knows full well “clean/green energy” isn’t going to be here anytime soon. He just wants to stop all oil drilling everywhere in the States right now.

That's the problem with being the product of indoctrination.

You accept what you have been taught and cling to it even when it is proved to be wrong.

This is apparent in Obama's leadership (or lack thereof). He can't think for himself, he can only keep applying (and reapplying) the principles that were crammed into his skull.

Even though I didn't have the stomach to watch him last night, I thought certainly some adviser would convince him to try something new...to be creative!

The fact that he is still a broken record speaks volumes about the intensity of his original indoctrination.

BTW, in Obama's case, I think he was a willing and eager participant in his socialist indoctrination.

In europe they have $5.00 Euro/gal. gas. Has that led to a replacement for gasoline there?

5 Euros/gal? Wow!

They should develop high speed trains or something!

Which would also lead to more commerce and help get the countries out of the red and pay off their national debts.

Unlike King Cnut this president really believes he can control nature with his voice or pen.

Of course it is not reality. Obama lives in a fantasy world.

Of the 15 mins, what really pissed me off was Obamah complaining and berating his MMS Dept being in bed with Big Oil to the detriment of public & environmental interests.

Well, if this isn't hypocritical!

All while aggressively hiring Big Money Wall Street executives responsible for America's financial crisis for his administration.

re. $5/gal gas in Europe.

It has just changed forms. Europe has a much greater penetration of diesel engines into the regular market. But most of those cars can’t be sold here because they don’t meet the EPA standards.

When you review all the costs, even the (bow down and give thanks to Toyota) Prius costs more per mile than a typical gas equivalent. Figure in the taxpayer incentive and replacing and disposing of batteries and the Prius makes NO SENSE!

What Charles wouldn’t say is that BO doesn’t care whether his proposals are realistic, as long as they shut down American industry and damage the economy sufficient to reduce our standing in the world.
BO believes we’ve had it too good for too long.

"In europe they have $5.00 Euro/gal. gas. Has that led to a replacement for gasoline there?"

Isn't it more like $5.00/liter?

What it's done is force people to buy really stinky 2 stroke mopeds and diesel cars spewing black smoke, with all the acceleration of a Model T. My eyes were inflamed and watering badly all the time in Rome and the buildings / antiquities were dirty and damaged from pollution.

But, they have these great trains that provide affordable transportation - as long as you don't mind fighting for a seat, putting up with rancid BO, and working around union strikes at peak times.

Here in Italy it's about 6 Euro per gallon. There are windmills about, but they are used for pumping water. The Italians deal with the gas price by generally driving small cars, like a Fiat 500 (the 500 denotes the cubic centimeter size of the engine, i.e. 500cc. IOW, my Harley has an engine three times bigger.)

Again, here in Italy it's about one-euro-twenty per liter, for diesel.
