Let's not make things more complicated than they are. In the end, Texas A&M is sick and tired of living in the large shadow of the University of Texas. Sick and tired of Texas' success and money. Sick and tired of the never-ending arms race for newer and better facilities. Forget those arguments about travel and culture and television revenues. If Texas A&M jumps to the Southeastern Conference, it'll be because the Aggies have had enough of being compared to and defined by the Longhorns.

What I find funny about Texas’ “big brother” attitude is they were left out when Arkansas went to the SEC. Since Hogs-Texas was the only game in the SWC that ABC cared about broadcasting, Texas was screwed. So they had to go begging to the Big 8. I’d love to see the AGGIES go to the SEC. That Dallas game will be huge every year.
To prove your point. Check out these Vince Young and
Colt McCou letters.

Okay! You can go to your room now!
If I were a betting man.......
Hook ‘EM (that’s all I need)
What are your thoughts on the move?
“I love my Huskies”
Me too, I think we got a real shot this year to take the conference and almost a lock on a bowl game.
In fact, with all the reshuffling I think that they should drop all the links between bowl games and conferences and just allow the bowls to line up their own teams based on the best expected TV viewership.
Its the same deal here in the Pac-10 with U of Oregon aka The Paris Hilton of college athletics and its fans.
They’ve self-annointed themselves important because they have a sugar daddy (Phil Knight of Nike) who buys them whatever they want. Their trophy case says otherwise, but that doesn’t stop them from running their mouths off about being the new dynasty of PAC athletics or their vile behavior to other teams fans when home or away.
However, I have great respect for Nebraska academics.
As one Cornhusker once told me, “Nebraska is a school that is dedicated to academics so much that we put a big ‘N’ on all the football helmets. And thWhos going to pay? Obama, the lawyers and the American public are determined that it will be BP down to the last cent. at big N stands for Knowledge.”
We are bowl bound for sure. Jake Locker is back for his senior year and the huskies are really starting to click under Coach Sark. We got a tough schedule again, but we are going bowling, for sure.
Oregon’s little run with their gimmicky offense is done as half the team is going to prison or will be by fall.
Go Dawgs!
I wonder why most Longhorn posters on the “Comical” Blog are accusing the Aggies from “running away” from the Conference. Every team in the Conference is “running away”. The Conference is sadly, “Graveyard Dead”.
I just wish they would make up their mind
Cool, I live in Dallas and went to Arkansas, Baylor and Univ. of Florida, but only pull for the Hogs. A&M will be a great addition to the S.E.C. West. S.E.C. would have taken Texas (spit), but U.T. (spit) does not want the competition or sharing the spotlight and decision-mkaing in that conference. U.T. (spit) has ruined every conference they’ve played in, and they will do it to this new PAC 10 thing. Hell, they might have already done it before it’s even started.
And the folks on here should support A&M as it is one of the only few overall conservative universitities left in the U.S. The University of Texas (spit) is dominated by liberals in the ultra-liberal outpost of Austin.
Oh, and congrats to U.T. (spit) on beating the little Horned Frogs in baseball today. Oh wait...
Wherever Texas goes, the Aggies will follow.
“If ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ were candy and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas.”
Ah, to have Dandy Don back. He was the most entertaining sportscaster since Dizzy Dean.
I may me smoking the rock, but I'm pretty sure Bama smoked Texas earlier this year.
Deleted by accident
It’s going to be funny to watch Arkansas and A&M sign some of the recruits that Texas will go after. With that game in Dallas every year it gives them a lot of exposure to Texas high school talent.
And it replaces the Texas/OU rivalry that went to hell once they started playing in the same conference and Arkansas was gone. It ended up being Texas’ only challenge every year. And the Texas/A&M rivalry was always a Texas thing. You watch Jones turn the A&M/Hogs yearly game into a national event! And if they’re both in the SEC that makes it even better!
Come in, Aggies! The water’s fine!
Make that two, I’ll add my “Yea”!
Need one more to even out at 14 for the SEC. Va. Tech? 13 not a number of teams one wants for the long haul.
