Can I be on the jury? (Nullification, here we come!)
I know. Fat chance.
You dunno. This guy has probably done some other really stupid stuff.
This is not a new story, but one that recurs over and over again. I don’t know how many brainiacs think they can sell military hardware and get away with it. They should know that every military base and camp has a number of undercover agents seeking to buy hardware just to test the system. The real fun part happens when they discover some officer’s status report is fraudulent. A career ender.
I'd hold out for an acquital on the land mine unless it was a SADM. ;)
SGM's wife and crew ran 10k on trail that AM and spotted it leaning up against the tree and dutifully took it home for SGM to "take to work".
So you are OK with the theft of our property?
D’oh!
The local radio station said it was a Claymore
Have a cousin that spent a coupla yrs in Levenworth along with a supply Sgt for selling govt property.
This idiots in for some real hard time I imagine
Its not theft...its liberation. I see it as “redistribution of freedom” /obamaspeak
IMPO, charge him with theft, possession of stolen property and attempted sale of stolen property.
Not “possession of [weapon or weapons]”. I, too, would acquit on that charge, even though convicting on others if proved.
I asked my son to bring me home an SKS. He said it wasn't allowed.
At least in the ‘Nam you filled out some paperwork and broght home the odd souvenir. No mines however...
