Mr. T does not like the new A-Team movie with good cause

Lindsay Robertson of Yahoo Movies' "Movie Talk" reports: Mr. T Is Not a Fan of the New 'A-Team', and with good cause. Mr. T. played tough guy B.A. Baracus in the original made-for-TV action series "The A-Team", and he remembers the elements that made the television program a success : "fun and family entertainment."

Apparently today's movie producers could care less.

Mr. T., who turned down a cameo in the movie, said: "It was too graphic for me. People die in the film and there's plenty of sex, but when we did it no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in any more."

That's right T. Sex sells, and people are out for blood. If you don't go along with it, then you don't get cast...

I used to love The A-Team. Have no interest in seeing the new movie.

What make the show so great was its over-the-top cornball campiness, and you call tell from the commercial that the movie tries to be way too serious and has none of that old spirit.

I haven’t seen the movie, and I’m not going to. I agree with T on this one. The old A-team was good, clean fun. The perosn playing B.A. in the remake, Quinton Jackson, is a peice of trash IMO.

Rampage Jackson plays Mr T’s part. He’s is a UFC fighter and a funny guy. He was one of the coaches on the ultimate fighter and he had me laughing out loud watching what is supposed to be a fighting show.

The original A-Team were all supposed to be altruistic crack mercenaries, ex-military, yet never were able to hit anyone with their shots. Maybe they had another message they wanted to portray, but hitting your target wasn’t one of them.

It was a kid-oriented show. Nobody dies. Not very satisfying or realistic. Now, The Unit is a show that is such a show that I enjoy.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and he could undoubtedly kick Mr. T’s ass...

I met Mr. T at a Starbucks in Studio City about 5 or 6 years ago. He couldn’t have been a nicer guy.

but when we did it no one got hurt

I tried watching the A-Team once. They were cutting loose with automatic weapons fire and no one got hit or hurt or killed. Complete fantasy violence, so I don't understand the objection here - is Mr. T mad that they are actually showing what realistically happens when you have a firefight with full-auto weapons?

I think that Terry Crews would’ve been a better choice to play BA Baracus. He could’ve topped his dance scene in the movie “White Chicks.”

I loved the show when I was a kid. I was the only girl at school that had an A-team lunchbox. I had the trading cards and even an A-team matchbox car van. If Mr. T won’t endorse this movie, my excitement at seeing it went from “Oh yeah” to “Eh”.

Back in the 80s, Mr. T reportedly had the second largest private collection of jewelry in the state of California. The largest?: Sammy Davis Junior.
