NEW YORK- Horse racing's final Triple Crown event, The Belmont Stakes, is taking place this Saturday and one of the favorites - for second place - is a horse named "First Dude."
Yes, that's First Dude, as in the nickname of the former First Gentleman of Alaska Todd Palin, husband of Tea Party darling and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
A big, long-striding horse, the Preakness runner-up is owned by Don Dizney

The announcer just said the crowd erupted to her singing. I have a VERY hard time believing that.

I don't know if he faded, or if those other two just had a better kick. All-in-all, I thought it was a strong race by First Dude. That is a LONG race. I wonder if he'll run in the Breeders.

He should have held back like the others. It’s a long race. Not mentioning too much how well First Dude did for most of the race by the announcers.

I shoulda bet Smith. He’s one of the most serious jocks
alive, and I’ve been watching him win races here in NY
for about 15 years.
His win on Zenyatta in the Breeder’s Cup was THE most
exciting race I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen tens of thousands of them.
I really hope so.
FWIW, today I'm up by about $7. Overall, I'm only $10 short of my entire deposit for the year. That's less than the price of entrance.
